Favorites from the museum's growing collections are still on rotation--Andy Warhol, Jasper Johns, Ellsworth Kelly. And the expanded galleries showcase traveling shows and independent projects from up-and-coming modern artists and filmmakers. Also part of the package: a cinema, with its own schedule of avant-garde and independent films and videos; and the McGuire Theater, with its intimate performing arts events.
Pay parking is available in a garage on the Walker site, accessible from Vineland Place. Additional parking is available in the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden pay lot and on the street (hourly and metered).
Admission is free every Thursday from 5pm to 9pm and the first Saturday of each month.

I usually don't enjoy contemporary art because it can be pretentious,but I find the Walker Art Center to hold great exhibits of quality art. I really enjoyed the "Let's Entertain" Exhibit, which took place there a couple years ago. They've also just recently added an extension to their building, so more art!
They've got a great sculpture garden and fun summer events outdoors.

The Walker offers a wide variety of different types of art. Many pieces are done by local artists. There is so many types of art to see, you never get bored. When you are done inside, take a walk to the Sculpture Garden. Here you can see the famous cherry and spoon sculpture that I always try to point out to mu husband when driving on I-94. The sculptures are all unique and fun to look at.

This is the place for the Viking fan to find just what he wants. They have a huge selection of official Vikings memorabilia. Prices are fairly expensive but all official NFL gear is. A great place to browse.

Varsity Bike Shop, located in Dinkytown is a great place to go with Bike questions, when you need service or just want to shop for a bike. Because they are on the smaller side, their bike selection for sale might be a bit on the limited side. But their service is so friendly, so helpful & knowledgeable, that it more than makes up for it. When I got my bike, not even at their bike shop, I went into Varsity Bike to get a cupholder & basket. The guy behind the counter not only helped me find the best one for what I was looking for, but he then helped me put them on my bike, and showed me how to do it. Varsity Bike Shop is a great source for all of your bike needs.
