This is THE place to go if you are starting out in freshwater, or saltwater aquaria. Their staff is quite knowledgable, and have a lot of experience to share with the starting hobbyist. They carry a large selection of aquarium supplies, and what they do not have - they can generally order for you without too much trouble. They even have RO (Reverse Osmosis) Freshwater and Saltwater available by the gallon in case you do not have access to your own unit to fill your aquarium with.

This a wonderful little pet store right off 85th and 252. They sell many different types of fish, tanks and accessories, parakeets, kittens and misc. reptiles.
We first visited the store when we were looking for a parakeet as a family pet. I had many questions on purchasing and caring for a bird, in which the store owner was able to clearly and patiently answer all of them. They sell many types of pet food in higher quality brands as well as pet care accessories.
They have a few "friends" that live in the store; a beautiful African Gray parrot and hound dog of some sort (very cute). I think this is a top-notch pet store with a very friendly feel. It's actually a little bit of a drive for us, but it's the only place I can get the special brand of bird food for our Parakeet. Worth the drive!

PETCO is a chain pet store found all over the twin cities and beyond. PETCO has been very good to me in terms of the quaility of their fish. I bought my work fish, Ralph, from Petco and he has been a good, healty fish. PETCO has a variety of different fish, and they seem to take very good care of them. They also have about every type of fish accessories known to man! They had so many aquariums and fish bowls. PETCO seems to be much better in terms of their fish's health and also, they seem to have more accessories.
