I had Zilya and her staff put hair extensions in last week. I have baby fine hair that seemed to stop growing at my shoulders. Zilya and her staff did an awesome job of first correcting my hair coloring and then adding extensions two days later. The extensions and hair cut took about 3 hours. I have received tons of compliments on them from friends and co-workers. Everyone says they blend in amazingly and that you can't even tell it's not my real hair. I would completely recommend Zilya for hair extensions if you are looking for someone experienced that knows what they are doing. As a side note, they aren't cheap (standard rates for a high end, experienced stylist), but you get what you pay for and this was well worth it!! She warned me that I might become addicted to them and I already am.
Pros: Fast, Experienced, Awesome Customer Service!
Cons: None

What was once an awesome idea-- community center, fitness center in one, has gone down hill in Minneapolis. The city YMCA's are in poor repair, dirty, and well, kind of scary! The membership fees are outrageous considering you could get a pampered club experience for less now-a-days. I do appreciate that the offer scholarships to those who can't pay the high price---but good grief, it's not worth it no matter whether you can afford it or not!

Obviously by the headline of my review, Athelas (pronounced UH THEY LESS) has a gift that is "shear" magic. I have had my hair cut in the Twin Cities, Chicago, and New York City. I haven't found anyone quite as good as she is.
Normally, I don't like when someone is cutting my hair and trying to force a conversation. It's uncomfortable and neither the "haircutter" or the "haircutee" (that would be me) wants to talk anyway. I mean really, how long can you discuss the weather and other painfull conversational fillers. Then, I had my first cut with Athelas.
Yes, she has the gift of gab and is one of those people that you feel you've known you're whole life. Yet, there's more to it. I'm telling you, I should be paying her $100 an hour. She has given me better advice than my therapist on several occasions.
Between her unbeatable haircuts, immediate ability to make you feel at home, and FREE therapy sessions....I won't go to anyone else.
Thanks Athelas!!!
Pros: Best Male Haircut in the Twin Cities, Chicago, and NYC.
Cons: When she's finished with you, you won't want to leave.

I would just like to explain White Knight's past complaint of a wine tour from 6-17-07. I did not pose as an event planner or assume the role as one. I helped the customer find a restaurant to eat at and suggested a few wineries to "see". I did not offer to book "private" tours or help plan her timing in any way. The customer found out on arrival that her first winery was having a special event and would not be having public tours as scheduled on their website but would be having them in an hour. They did have other things for the customer to enjoy such as wine tasting if she so choose to do so. The customer went to her lunch and did not opt to visit any other wineries. She did use over 4.5 hours of service and wanted a full refund. We explained we can not be responsible for wineries having special events and a schedule posted on their website that is not correct. Our website does not say anything about being an event planner or booking private tours. We did give her a partial refund even though we do not accept responsibility for the wineries events. She expected to use the full time she scheduled and to get a full refund.

I have never been to a place with so much selection and such a caring heart. I very much enjoyed the service and the different way that things were looked towards my care. The float tank is something I can not explain and I wish everyone knew how good it felt to relax at a state most of us never reach.
Thank you to the wellness team!!!!!!!!!
Pros: It changed my day and my illness.
Cons: Only thing- I got lost

Although not the spa-like retreat it tries to be, Urban Retreat still offers a great selection of services in an urban environment. Waxes, hair, nails, makeup, and massage are all offered.
The atmosphere is great- an open area with magazines to read and jars of candy to eat while you wait. The staff and clientèle are on the younger side and always youthful and hip.
I used to go for an eyebrow or leg wax once in a while and they always did their best to make it a relaxing experience- which isn't easy. The lady who waxed my brows, always stylish, friendly and smiling, would take me to a small quiet room with light music, ask me exactly what I wanted, then politely carry on a conversation as the hairs were extracted. I had a bad experience only once when they had a makeup artist do my brows who didn't really know what she was doing, but I called and they gave me a second complimentary appointment with a much more skillful waxer.
Urban offers a fun, hip, and generally enjoyable place to forget about the buzzing streets surrounding you and sit back for once to be pampered.

Well, after going there for about a year now I couldn't be happier. Mark is always running on time and very personable. The cuts and colors have always been consistently good. When I ask him to change my style in some way, he always gives me what I expected. What more could I want?

I have been inked by Nic at Uptown Tattoo because 98% of the work I see on other people that is STUNNING, great quality, great color, great shading comes from him. I have never heard a name in this market more spoken about and reccommended. The facility is clean, organized, good lighting, comfortable and the customber service can't be matched (those guys are hilarious!!). I was unimpressed by Ink Lab who once told me my tattoo was too small and I would have to have it enlarged, which took me to Saint Sabrina's which felt more like a tattoo surplus store and some random man who after tattooing me appeared to be under a mood altering substance, asked me for a ride home. Not impressed with the quality or the staff or the cleanliness. From my own and my husband and friend's experience - if you don't want a generic tattoo, go to Uptown Tattoo.
Pros: Quality original designs
