For my sisters birthday this last weekend, she chose to go to Solera's to celebrate. At the beginning I had been very reluctant to go since I have never been there before, but once we arrived we all had a great time! It was a little crowded but overall the enviornment was upbeat and fun! The drinks were great and I will be returning again soon!
Pros: young, hip and fun!
Cons: crowded

From the Cheese Fondue to the Main Course, Wine and Pear Bread Pudding, it was Heaven. Listen to Jesse H., and not to any of the negative reviews. Better make a reservation to be sure you can have this dining experience, too!

Obviously the previous reviewer lacks any sort knowledge of Greek Food. This is truly the only restaurant that comes close to Greek food between here and Greece. I grew up in Greece, and I know Greek food when taste.
Most of the food here is local and artisan. All the food is made from scratch. You will be hard pressed to find another Greek restaurant that makes its own tzaziki. This place features great wines from Greece. I would recommend this place to everybody.
Pros: Great Local Authentic Food. Ambiance.
Cons: Parking

I have eaten here many times in the past few years and can truly say each meal has been wonderful, romantic and memorable. Two of these meals were incredibly outstanding and both were fish creations. I had Arctic Char recently with a mustard reduction sauce - out of this world, and another with lemon caper sauce was one of the best meals I have ever had in my life. Want a place that is romantic and feels like a romantic bistro in a European hamlet? Well - this is it! A gem with a great central location that borders St. Paul and Mpls. Go at five and still have time to get to the theatre or symphony. Great wine selection too. And the creme caramel is outstanding. The only thing I really miss is seeing the neighborhood cat who used to visit several times an evening several years back... The owners have always been very gracious whenever I've eaten there.
Pros: romantic atmosphere; gourmet food; family owned and run
Cons: must have a reservation in the evening

This is the first restaurant that impressed us so much that we feel compelled to write a review.
Mediterranean / Middle eastern restaurants are quite sparse in the Twin Cities, compared to say Montreal (home for one of us). So far the two best options were Babani's and Caspian. The menu at Saffron is very different, though, offering contemporary re-interpretations of some middle eastern dishes and staying away from those that would not distinguish it from other restaurants. There are several very interesting and tasty non-alcoholic drinks.
The quality of the ingredients is very high and fresh spices are said to be ground every week. Preparation is first class, and presentation is beautiful. The servers are pleasant, helpful and know every detail of the dishes. The ambience of the dining area is warm, clean and contemporary. All of this combined into an unexpectedly enjoyable experience.
The most tasty items for the evening have to be the Kofta meatballs and the goat cheese majdool date tart accompanying the duck breast.
I noticed some reviewers complaining about parking. While we found on-street parking, there is also a garage accross the street on 2nd Ave, so this should not be a concern.
Pros: Excellent food, very reasonable prices (particularly for the small plates)
Cons: Location

This place is amazing. The service was some of the best i've received, the foods amazing, and the drinks and wine list are great. Try the tasting menu, its well worth the money. The only weird kinda part is that it feels like its in a apartment building.
Pros: Service, food.
Cons: none

Great ambiance, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and the food reminds me of when I was in Cyprus. I always enjoy their calamari and avegelemeno soup most, but it should all be sampled. I have tried the other Greek restaurants in town, but this is the only one that recreates the actual Mediterranean flavor.
Pros: Great food with a nice atmosphere--perfect for casusal dinning or a night out
Cons: None that I can see

We actually had our wedding reception at the Atlas Grill and everything was wonderful! The atmosphere is gorgeous with the velvet curtains and dark wood. The servers are very attentive and timely - even for our large group! It was a wonderful and memorable evening. I'd highly recomend it for lunch or for a special occasion.
Pros: beautiful decor, great food, good service
Cons: not open every night

Although rather spicy, the food here is truly authentic and mainly serves the Indian community in the Twin Cities. More and more locals are visiting the place, though. The place is not exactly the setting for fine dining and most people just order their food for takeaway. I was three times last week, and each time, the cook staff was busy organizing their long list of catering orders.
My favorite dishes are the Chicken Tikka Masala Kabob, Palak Dhal (this is on the spicy side) and biryani rice. I also enjoyed the Chicken Curry and the beef curry. My husband and I washed everything down with Mango Lassie on another occasion, Masala tea. They also have chicken nuggets as part of their kid menu; my daughter loved it. Their food is certified 'halal' (kosher by Muslim standard).
If you are looking for great down-home Indian cuisine but don't care about ambience, then this place a just a great find.
Pros: Great food and service. Unique dining experience.
Cons: Small place
