Walked in and thought the atmosphere was nice and inviting. We decided to order the Spinach Fondue and that was really good. The bread was a little salty but who doesn't like salt? My wife ordered the walleye and it above average. The corn crust didn't really seem to cover that much. It was more walleye with a light coating of breading. The walleye itself was fresh and didn't taste fishy at all. The fries were really good. I ordered the honey pork-chop based off of previous reviews. It was big but over-cooked. Maybe it was an off night but it wasn't as good as I thought it would be.
Overall, it was a decent meal and might try again but with so many options in downtown, it might be awhile.
Pros: Nice atmosphere, good service
Cons: Somewhat over-priced

The pork chops are huge, impressive, and way tasty. Being quite large, there is no possible way they could be cooked to order in the time afforded an average patron for dinner. Consequently they are cooked earlier and stored. This seems odd, but it is a common practice with large cuts of meat. Ok, so... I received *my* chop and it was barely warm which was unfortunate because I was quite excited. I sent it back to be reheated and it returned a bit browner but still not warm enough. I almost suggested it be brought up to a core temp of at least 150f but elected to finish it as is. If this chop was to temperature, it would have been the best one I have ever had. The apple and yam side was amazing however the rosemary garnish mildly reeked of mildew. It is the opinion of this writer that a bit more attention to the details would propel this restaurant's stellar menu to new heights.

I had breakfast the other day at FireLake for the first time. I can't understand why it was so slow. What a hidden gem. I tried the Asparagus Bruschetta Benedict, it was fantastic. My fiancee had the stuffed french toast. The canadian bacon, they call it something else, was the best I have ever had. The service was terrific. Tyrone treated us like a guest in his home. I loved the open kitchen to watch the Chef's work.
It was a great experience and we will be back soon with friends.
Pros: Service, Food, Hidden Gem
Cons: They don't validate parking

I went to Fire Lake for the first time with a group of people. Belinda was our server. She made excellent suggestions for food and drink, and made it fun and easy for everyone at the table. The food was amazing. I had the smoked pork chop- Hands down the best pork chop I have ever had. I tried the bacon-wrapped bison. it was so tender and delicious. And I forgot how good mashed potatoes can be until I ate the white cheddar-herb mash they have. I am going to go back soon just to try their rotisserie prime rib.-oh my god that looked amazing!! It was just nice to eat simple but awesome food in a warm, layed back atmosphere. definitely check it out!
Pros: service was gracefull and fun, food was amazing
Cons: too many things to try, not a big enough stomach.

The waitress was brisk and condescending and simply lying about ingredients. When asked about a particular wine, she responded "local." When pressed as to the area, she responded Napa Valley. I said that's California, and she retorted haughtily, "That's local." The restauarnt prides itself on local grown and organic foods. Something 1,500 miles away is hardly local. The much touted Elk steak was tough and full of sinew and would not even pass for poor quality beef. I have had Elk steak at the Old Fort restaurant near Denver and it melted like butter. I am beginning to wonder what it was they served me. Old horsemeat, perhaps?
The sad thing is that this restaurant carries the Chaine des Rotisseurs plaque, usually a sure sign of culinary quality. Either improve your food and service or take the sign down quickly.
Cons: poor service for dinner , poor food

I love FireLake! FireLake has a wonderful lunch menu with great monthly specials. I try to eat lunch there at least once a month. The service is always "just right "- friendly, attentive but never "over the top". The food is always great - fresh and locally sourced - and a great value. I love recommending FireLake to friends because they can't thank me enough for introducing them to a great local restaurant.
Pros: great service & great food
Cons: none

My fiance and I went here to enjoy a nice evening thinking this would be super nice with great food. We got a reservation like they recommended but was completely unnecessary. Our reservation was for 7 pm on a Friday and there were about 3 or 4 other tables there. The waitress was slow even though she had no other tables and recommended a horrible drink which was pricey as well. Ordered a steak and fish which was good but not anything special. We also had a side of asparagus which was literally just asparagus on a plate. We won't be going back and don't recommend it.
