My sister needed to have back surgery and Abbott Northwestern hospital was where the procedure was done. She was in good hands. The medical staff at Abbott Northwestern are highly recommended. The quality care she was given was absolutely fantasic. Don't let the facility location steer you away. The neighborhood may not be Edina, but it is safe and trusted by many who go to the hospital. Keep this on your list of places if you need it in a tough situation.

Okay, so i see a negative review from the previous poster. I have to disagree. I have used Town Taxi several times as of late and found that that they are on time, and the drivers seems to have a good attitude. I did have one driver on his phone when he picked me up, but he promptly ended the call when I got in, and engaged me in conversation. The latest the cab has been was 5 minutes, and he apologized for it.
A little insight:
The driver that was 5 minutes late gave me some insight in to the company. He said they take being on time very seriously. To the point that if they are late the company will penalize them by not sending them orders for 12 hours, and they have to go discuss it with a manager at the company. THAT SPOKE VOLUMES!
I have called them, and their staff has been average. They do ask for a last name, and I did once ask why and they stated "for the safety of our drivers". I can respect that. I guess the big thing that made me want to keep using them is this new CabCall thing they have. I never even have to call them anymore. I go to their website, login, and can order a cab online. It can even be immediate. I also get a call from their system when the cab driver is 2 minutes away letting me know they are arriving. When it comes to cold Minnesota that means A LOT!
Either way. If you are wondering who to use. They seem reliable and customer driven. So I would recommend them.
Pros: Online ordering, On-Time Pickup, a company that seems serious about their customers
Cons: The inside of some of the cabs I have seen could have been cleaner, but that was rare.

I go to this office once a week to get allergy shots and the staff is great. They are always friendly and genuinely concerned about my health. I once had an allergy attack that I mentioned in passing and the nurse went and talked to the doctor and got me eye drops to help with my itchy eyes. I also got a flu shot there. Dr. Bransford, my physician, is also a good doctor - he is attentive and doesn't make me feel rushed, and is good about having someone get back to me if I have a question.

I've never been hospitalized here, nor have I known anyone who has been. However, for about a month, I was in outpatient partial hospitalization here, for adult psychotherapy, toward the beginning of this year. It was a very eye-opening experience.
Groups were held throughout the day, mostly verbal, where we would share what was on our mind, what we needed help with, and then we would get feedback, not just from our group leaders, who were psychologists, but from our fellow patients. Everybody had a different background. I was a depressive patient with PTSD amongst many manic-depressive patients, so it was strange, yet very helpful to get pointers from people who were not the same as me, but who could clearly understand my situations.
The psychiatrists came daily or three times a week, depending on who you saw. Mine was a daily, and she was great. I actually wished I could see her on an outpatient basis, but unfortunately, she was for inpatients only.
The skills and coping mechanisms I learned there I am still using now, and I go back to those ideas and pointers from both the staff and my fellow patients to help me through my days.
My insurance, Aetna, did cover it, however they did not cover all of the visits by the psychiatrist, so a little warning there. Of course it all depends on your plan and amount of coverage.
The meals were provided up to 4.50, which could cover a bit, but not always all, if you were up for some variety in the cafeteria. We got an hour and a half for lunch, which for me was too much. But I just waited around upstairs, in the program area, which was fine.
All in all, this is a wonderful program for those needing to transition from hospital to the real world.
PROS: lots of sharing, plenty of staff to help, daily visits with psychiatrist
CONS: south minneapolis (bad area), lunch time a bit too long, not all ins. cover

We have not been happy with the Americinn in Mounds View. On one occasion the faucet would not work. We went as far as talking to the manager and she said "sorry, we can't get someone here til Monday what do you want me to do about it". We were so disappointed. We were paying 100 dollars for a hotel room but could not even brush our teeth. Then on our most recent occasion we found we had to pay to use the pool. And on top of that the times the pool and slide are open are ridiculous. The rules are not very thoughtful. Noone under 5 can go on the slide. Try to tell a 4 year old that one!
Never again!

About this clinic. They took care of our ailing dog for several years, they were always helpful and up front with the cost of any services she would need. We had her on heart medicine for almost 2 years and they always made it easy for us to get her prescriptions. If they did not have it in stock they would readily get us a prescription to take to walgreens. They were there with our dog up until the end. When she passed on they were very sincere and helpful to us in our time of grief. An excellent care facility with top notch doctors and employees.
