I have been going to Chino since they opened. The quality of the food has changed over the years, the blackberry mohito martini has less puree than it used to, and it caters more the the suburb crowd but it stil is Chino Latino. They need to open up locations in SF, Chicago, and NYC if you ask me.
The service can be touch and go but what I have learned is that the severs are trained to be sassy, and sometimes they get too busy to provide five star service but I have never had terrible service. They are fun and they will interact with your group. We bring groups in often on weeknights and the service tends to be a little more attentive. Make sure you try the specialty drinks, and don't be afraid to share.
Things to try:
Salt And Pepper Shrimp now known as Chino Style Shrimp Feast
Queso Fundido
Elote
Shrimp Curry
Mushi Beef
Black Laab
Smores
Volcano Cup
Pros: No other resturant like it
Cons: Loud and hard to get a table on the weekends

We were actually on our way to a nearby sandwich shop when we decided to give Babalu a try. We weren't aware that they had a lunch, much less a lunch buffet. As it was nearing 2pm, they were getting ready to tear the buffet down (understandably so!), but the executive chef offered to make some more of the dishes on the buffet that were gone.
The food had to be some of the most flavorful that we've had in Minnesota. The chef came out again to check on us, and even offered to explain some of his dishes that we were enjoying. He apologized again that the food was not out immediately when we arrived and then suggested we order a dessert on him. We walked out with a bill under $25 between the two of us.
What we took from this was that Babalu has some amazing food, prepared by an executive chef who really cares that his customers are happy and enjoying his food. We'll most certainly be back...and looking forward to Dinner next time!
Pros: Flavorful food, chef interaction, atmosphere

We went this weekend a had a blast!!
The drinks are SUPER strong and tasty and they do $4 apps from 10pm - close.
The music was awesome and my friends danced all night to classic 80s music.
Its so unique and different. If youre looking for somewhere fun to go without pretentious people then this is the place to go. Knight Rider was showing on the TVs behind the bar!
We will definately go back for sure!!
Pros: STRONG drinks, GREAT music, GREAT place for a big group!!

Yuca tasted great- the potroast out of this world! The flavors and spices all came together.
Had the same waiter both times we went and he was great- helped us with the menu and
his recommendations were right on. Try the Mojito's - awesome. Will definently go back and
visit.
Pros: service, great tasting food
Cons: price

Everyone who knows quality food in the Twin Cites knows that Harry Singhs is a gem. Consistently for the last 30 years Harry has been serving up the most authentic Caribbean food in the Twin Cites. His loyal following include most of the food critics in the area as well as sports figures and arts folks. He has too many reviews to count with the latest in Minnesota Monthly in March 09. Many have tried to copy Harry's recipes and some do and call them their own. But all who know , go to Harry's for his Roti's , Brown Down Chicken and Doubles.
If you want to take a trip to the Caribbean , look no further than Harry Singhs.
You will not be disappointed,
Pros: Home Cookin for 30 years - Harry is a Legend

Funky ambience and great food, served up by a friendly staff. I left my name on one of the walls (patrons are encouraged to do so) and would go back again when in Minneapolis.
Pros: Ambience, service, humorous menu names

The critics were right about this place - meat was fantastic, and the sides were wonderful. If you're a chain-restaurant-eating side of meat on a plate kind of person, this isn't for you, however. Portions were entirely under control but still plenty for two. I almost hate gushing about the place since it's so small....
Pros: the food
Cons: lack of space
