Lyon’s atmosphere is very remarkable, especially around the holidays. I would rather sit down for a meal and watch a football game somewhere unique verses an average sports bar (champs). Great night life! I don’t have to wait over 10 minutes just to get a drink and I won’t expect an attitude from the server. Music? What ever you want, just pick up the phone on the dance floor and ask him to play a song. Don’t worry about getting too sweaty dancing just ask the staff to open the five foot window next to the dance floor. Lastly, the tables outside are convenient because it doesn’t look like the smoking ban going anywhere. Over all my experience was one of a kind.

I somehow ran across these reviews on the Lyons Pub and it caught my attention because I have been going there for well over ten years since I was a kid and it broke my heart. I read what Mr Dean H wrote, and I would just like for principal to set the record straight. First of all this guy has no idea what he is talking about, just because his company has spent tens of thousands of dollars on open bars at this or any other establishment, means that he is owed free drinks??? All that means is his company has spent ten thousand dollars on alcohol up front rather than individually throughout the course of the night. Either way alcohol costs money and sounds to me like this guys company just decided to pay for it up front the nights they had there event........wait so that means they should get free drinks!!!!!!!!!!!! HA, well guess what buddy, Ive seen this man you ASSumed is a greedy BMW driving money grubbing owner you call a weasel pay for him and his family's own drinks!!!! I asked him why he would do such a thing at his own bar and he said, "Because it costs money" then he explained to me that he is very careful with his business and he has to keep everything on the books for the purposes of keeping his restaurant that he has DEDICATED his life to, running. Ive been served many free drinks at bars and paid for many as well but let me tell you one thing, it felt good to pay for a drink at this bar after hearing something as noble as that come out of the owners mouth. I think dean needs to take his spoiled ass somewhere else for open bar next time.

I don't usually take the time to write reviews, but I've been going to Lyon's for over 10 years becasues the food and atmosphere is great. There are no harder working people than the restaurant and bar industry and the staff at Lyon’s brings hard work and great service to a new level. There’s a very obvious reason that law firms and ad agencies have been going to Lyon’s for years – they trust Chris and his staff to make sure their event is properly taken care of, and we never get over-charged. My hats off to Chris and his entire thoughtful staff for many years of great food, dedicated service and fun!

This place does indeed have a fun, downtown Minneapolis atmosphere, but the food is generally pretty bad! It's a great place to go for drinks after work or on a casual night out, but do not order a meal from them! The last time I went there, I ordered a simple chicken sandwich. The chicken was the driest chicken I have EVER tasted. Really, I don't even cook my chicken like that at home! It was like it had been pre-cooked and then re-heated once they got my order! The bun was also really dry and the fries were bad. It's a shame, because the place has a great atmosphere, but stick with the beer and popcorn!

The US Bank burger is very good. It has mushrooms and grilled onions. The smothered chicken sandwich was really good too. It has swiss cheese, banana peppers and fried onions on an onion bun. The fries were crispy, but could have been hotter. The Lyon's lager was good, but could have been colder. We sat on the patio which was nice, but careful not to sit under the speaker unless you want to hear the baseball game's play by play and nothing else.

We love how you can sit outside here and watch everything going on downtown! Our waitress was very friendly and so helpful! it was a very fun place to be. There were a lot of good food options and what we chose was great! The tables outside are the best place to sit in our opinion as you can people watch while eating!
