My wife and I bought our NEW Mini Cooper S there in 2006. It was a great car until January 2008, which is when the "EP" light came on. This is a dummy light that means END OF PROGRAM, a computer problem that relates to the transmission.
So, my wife brings it up there, and they reset the computer, and say that should take care of it... INCORRECT! The EP light came on the next DAY!
We bring it up there, get a loaner, they "fix it" again... Nope. So we go through this back and forth process a total of 5 times, to no avail. Meanwhile the transmission is getting much worse each time we get the car back, rather than repair it, they would screw around with it. One time, my wife was almost stranded, because they wasted all of the gas (it was 3/4 full when brought in), and did not bother to inform her at the very least, or refill it!
Sure, the customer service guys were on the nicer side when we would bring the car in, but that is their job, to make each customer feel precious.
I could go on and on and on about how all of this transpired, but I have to get to the good part...
My wife and I finally resolved to having the car repurchased under the lemon law statutes. Motorwerks itself was unwilling to approach us at this point! They said that we could not use the lemon law when the car was under warranty... FALSE.
So, we contacted BMW corporate, and Salvatore T. took care of us, along with the BetterBusinessBureau Automotive Division's assistance. After about 8 weeks of paper work and such, we had our issue resolved, but that was no thanks to MOTORWERKS. They made my wife and decide from there on that we will NEVER step through their doors again.
Motorwerks BMW in Bloomington Minnesota gives the BMW brand a bad name.
Pros: Clean
Cons: If you need repairs, look elsewhere

I usually take my 545i into Sears, but was near Motorwerks when the check engine light came on during the last cold spell. I drove it in because it was making some noise and was greeting promptly. Sad to say that was the high point. After 3 days of no communication, I had to call to get some insight on what was going on with my car. Now I know BMW's cost money to fix, but when I was told it would be $2500 just to get me back on the road I was irate. The vehicle was 200 miles out of warranty and all the dealer wanted was to raid my wallet. Then after I paid, minus the $200 discount I had to practically beg for, they wanted me to give them all fivess on a survey they said I would be getting. Yeah right. If they wanted all fives, they should earn it, not ask for it.

I went to buy a BMW from this place and the salesperson, Oliver, was rude, inconsiderate and tried to push me into a higher priced vehicle than I could afford. I ended up buying a used 3 Series instead and won't be buying a new car there ever. 3 weeks after buying my 330i, I had it in for an inspection and service wanted $1100 for rear coil springs and rear shocks. I told them that this car was safety inspected and that I shouldn't have to pay for anything since it was within 30days of purchase. They told me it doesn't matter, these parts need to be replaced. I asked to speak to the service manager, Scott, and he told me if I don't want them to fix it, then come get my car. So I did and took it to Sears BMW instead where they said only 1 coil spring was broken and everything else appeared ok.
2 rude and greedy experiences in 1 month at this place. They'll try to clean you of everything in your wallet. Would not recommend at all!!!!

I took my car in because the oil light reported that it was low. Since the car had no dipstick it was hard to verify. The technician there added a quart to see if the light would go off but it didn't. I called to make an appointment early in the morning and dropped off the car so they can check the oil sensor. They said that it should only take about half a day and will call to let me know when it's done and have a courtesy shuttle pick me up. However, after 9 hours I did not receive any call and had to call them and it turned out that all they did was upgrade the firmware for the computer. The technician then told me that there's a chance that the light will come on again. Great! I might have to go through this again with them.

So here I am, buying my first BMW. As someone who knows exactly what she wants in a car, but doesn't want to deal with the typical car dealership pressure and haggling back and forth I was a bit concerned about going to such a large dealership. I was immediately put at ease when I got to Motorwerks.
I walked in the door and was greeted right away by a very friendly gal who asked if needed help finding anyone or anything. I told her I was there to look at used BMW's and she brought me to a salesman and introduced us. My salesman Joe was great. He showed me quite a few certified BMW's and was very patient in explaining what the certification meant. He never got frustrated with me, even though I insisted on looking at over 10 different cars until I found the perfect one for me!
(On a side note, how nice to have the cars indoors so that I could look at all of them without freezing outside.)
Once I settled on a beautiful black certified X3, Joe introduced me to his sales manager and to a finance manager and gave me their cards in case I had any questions.
I set an appointment to pick up my car, and when I came back in to do so I was amazed at how smoothly everything went. My finance person was great, very friendly and again very patient in explaining everything.
After I finished doing the paperwork, Joe was waiting for me to go over all of the features of my car and show me everything I would need to know including how to use the navigation, and set all of my personal settings on my car.
I again, was so impressed by the fact that I didn't get sold and dumped. Joe was with me throughout the entire process and I couldn't be more thrilled with my certified pre-owned car, and with the service I received at Motorwerks.
I would recommend Motorwerks to anyone!

Let me just start by saying this is not my first time purchasing a highline vehicle. I have bought just about every make out there and BMW is by far the most amazing vehicle I have ever driven. Not only was the vehicle a dream to drive or the Ultimate Driving Machine as BMW would call it, it blew all of my expectations away. Motorwerks was even more over and above than the vehicle was. Everything was amazing! The second I walked in the door there was a smiling face to greet me. They didn't do the traditional point It's over there, they brought me to where I needed to go. They introduced me to the sales person, explained their sales process and found out what I was looking for. The sales person spent about 3 hours with me showing me why they were different and what I could expect and explaining the vehicle to me. It took me a little while to get into the finance office but once I was in, they too, were courteous and full of knowledge. When I finished up with all the paperwork, the sales person met me and brought me to the vehicle. I have never seen a used car shine so bright. It was full of gas, warmed up and ready for me to drive. This was an amazing experience that I hope all receive! Go to Motorwerks. They did not have the best price, but I would rather pay a fair price for the best service and a vehicle in unbelievable condition! All I can say is WOW! Thank you Motorwerks!

Won't ever go back again! They messed up my car and when I brought it back with the Check Engine Light still on after only driving it for 1 day, the service manager called me and told me I owed them another $119 for checking it out again and the issue was my VANOS at a price of $943. He claimed it was an 'unrelated problem', however I had already paid over $1600 to fix it the first time. I told him my story and he told me HIS technicians do not make mistakes and wasn't going to budge for the diagnosis time to plug it into the computer. I paid the price, but won't do it again. A similar experience happened to me with them about 4 months ago, but figured I would give it another shot. Nice place and not very nice people. Two strikes and your out on this one. So I took my car down to an independent BMW shop and it turns out the 'perfect mechanic' at Motorwerks left my oil cap loose. The guys there put the cap on tight and cleared my Check Engine Light for free.
From now on I will be taking my car elsewhere where people know what they are doing!

Absolutely terrible experience! I will never buy another car from this place again! I bought an 04 5-Series with 49k. The sad part is that I could have bought the same car with the same warranty from Sears and saved about 4K, but chose to go with Motorwerks because I genuinely believed that I would be getting a better car and better service....boy, did they prove me wrong! The sales person was seemingly courteous at first, but the second I drove that car off the lot, I was completely forgotten, along with the numerous promises he made me. There were issues with the car that I noticed that I was reassured would be replaced and covered under my warranty. Its been 3 months and after numerous attempts to get in contact with the sales person who assured me that everything would be taken care of, I still have not heard back from them. He also discouraged me from getting the car checked out by an independent mechanic, assuring me that it was certified. DO NOT believe the hype and make sure you find ask what certified really means to them. As I had the unfortunate experience of finding out, it does NOT mean that basic fluids, such as oil, where changed. First week of having the car and I had to drop $80 to change the oil!!! This is completely not what I expected from the BMW dealer & their Certified Pre-Owned vehicles. The service department is completely rude as well. All of the service people are condescending, sarcastic, and extremely full of themselves. And they charge $119 per hour. Unbelievable!!!!
