I am a mechanic and serviced my truck 2 days before I left for a 1 year deployment to Iraq. After 5 months of my truck sitting in my garage, my wife needed to use it to pick up a large item. Unfortunately, the starter wires have always been loose and when she shut the truck off, they got disconnected. She had it towed to Bobby and Steve's and they quoted her at $793.00 to replace the ignition module, spark plugs and fuel sensor. The truck was driven 8 miles since I personally replaced the spark plugs. The fuel sensor had NOTHING wrong with it. Additionally, the ignition module was working just fine. I called the store from Iraq and found out what they wanted to do. I told them not to touch the truck, and that the problems they "said" were wrong were working properly. Upon my return from a 12 month deployment, I popped my hood and connected the starter wire. The truck started right up and has worked for 2000 miles since. The worst part about it was...when i popped my hood, every air tube had been ripped out by hand, and the P2 line was cut with a knife. My entire heating system had knife marks and clamps ripped out. After I told them to do NOTHING to my truck, they ripped every cord and wire they could get their hands on and pulled them apart. The correspondence between the management and getting answers on why they required so much unnecessary work has not been answered. I forwarded all the email corespondence and work orders, and pictures to the Business Bureau. I forwarded the information to the Army National Guard and Bobby and Steves is now a banned business for Military personel. DO NOT TRUST ANYTHING BOBBY AND STEVE'S AUTO WORLD TELLS YOU!!!!!!!!!!!! They took advantage of a woman whose husband was deployed. They should be embaressed of their actions and lack of American Support.
Pros: NONE
Cons: EVERYTHING ABOUT THEIR ETHICS

On December 13th, 2008 when my son and I went to this establishment to get gas and 2 pops, two employees, a young woman and an older man refused to process my Mastercard Debit card unless I went back out to my car, got my ID, went back in and provided it to them. When I told them that I do not have to provide them with an ID (MN Statute 325F.982 & Mastercard Policy 9.11), they refused to process my transaction, refused to allow me to put in my PIN number, and refused to return my debit card. I went to my car, got my ID and quickly flashed it in the air with 2 fingers covering the information. It was not possible for the older man to see the information he claimed to need and rendered the request ridiculous, but he then processed my transaction. I have since filed a complaint with Mastercard. For those who may be skeptic as to why I wouldn't just show him my ID: Identification Fraud. There is a reason that the State of Minnesota and Mastercard has these laws and policies in place, not only to reduce discrimination, but to avoid anyone taking your personal information and using it to break the law. An added reason for me: Both of these employees at this establishment were rude, smug, abusive, condescending and overly arrogant, and the bottom line was when they refused to give me back my debit card, something I have worked hard to have. I encourage everyone to avoid any of the establishments related to this company, but mostly to avoid this site altogether.
Pros: None
Cons: Abusive Customer Service

This past week my 03 Chevy Suburban broke down at Ft Snelling and needed a fuel pump. It was a Sunday evening around 5pm and i had no idea that anyone was open. i called information they gave me the number to station that referred me to Bobby and Steve's. I was new to the area and had not heard of them before so i was a little skeptical. I called them and within ten minutes they had a flat bed to me and loaded my truck up. The driver told me my truck would get right in and possibly fixed tonight. I got to their shop they gave me a free loaner car, and were very helpful. This could have been a negative experience but the strong professionalism was outstanding. I have since refereed Bobby and Steve's to several of my friends. Thank You Bobby and Steve's for being open and always friendly
Pros: They are open 7 days a week and always friendly and honest
Cons: exessivly happiness,

This review has nothing to do with auto repairs or getting the best price at the pump ~ I'm talking about the stuff that really counts: good on-the-go grub!! I don't even come to this corner station to fill up my car. Even though there's a Perkins right next door for some body refueling, I stop by here just to feed my face. Apparently Chicagoans will rejoice at the sight of a Vienna Beef vendor outside the Windy City, and for good reason. They serve the standard high-quality hot dogs and polishes, but I go straight for the main attraction every time. There's this spicy heaping delicacy known as a hot Italian beef sandwich that has stolen my heart & is the sole reason I regret relocating to the south. Its just so packed full of flavorful, juicy cuts of beef, dripping with savory au jus, and the hearty bread is the perfect complement to pull everything together. Get it with extra peppers ~ you just might fall in love.
Pros: Unexpected good eats!!
Cons: I don't remember pulling up to a pump...EVER...(Holiday is cheaper)

I took had my 1995 Honda Civic towed to Bobby and Steve's after someone attempted to steal my car. When the tow truck driver took my car off of the tow truck, he slammed my car's back end against the ground. Both I and the assistant manager of the shop witnessed this, so I assumed that the shop would take responsibility for any further problems.
After getting the car back (two days behind schedule), I departed on a road trip. My muffler promptly broke. After returning, I brought the car into the shop assuming they would fix their mistake. The manager of the shop admitted it was their fault, but also said I shared blame because my tailpipe was rusty. He refused to fix the damage for less than the costs of parts and labor, which would have been around 200 bucks. Needless to say, I was not about to pay for them to fix their own mistake.
Do not take your car to Bobby and Steve's. They are a corporate vampire that relies on mass advertising over repeat customers, which allows them to bully and extort. They are not customer service oriented as they claim.
Cons: Unethical Business Practices, Exorbitant Prices

Last week my girlfriend took her car there to have a rear strut looked at that was making noise. They called her back an hour later with stories about how horrible the car drives, how the rear struts were busted and leaking, and that the noise was actually coming from the front. The solution, full replacement of all four struts assemblies for $2100. I called the mechanic for clarification on the estimate, I found that he wanted $150 for a strut which retails at Napa for around $80 to $90. Nearly a 100% mark-up, which is pretty much standard for all parts through them. When I questioned the price the mechanic said, "Well, we need to make money too". As if $110/hour doesn't make money. In the end, we took it to the dealership of all places. Two rear struts installed for $450, problem solved. I guess I found out how Bobby and Steves got to be so big and shiny. Don't ever go there.

In the automotive world it is so hard to find a good mechanic, and that is why i have been going to bobby and steve's auto world off of France avenue for the past 5 years. These guys truly serve the customer, in fact they even have a "mission Statement" it is "to help team members be all they can be, so they can serve customers with confidence and respect". That is incredible a gas station with a mission statement! The people inside are always so friendly and energetic it's hard to not smile when comming through the doors. Anyways i recently came in for my oil change and when i went to pay for it i realized that i had forgot my wallet at home, i was so embarrrassed. The guys behind the counter said not to worry about it and just come back when it's convienent for you, they said they trusted me and it wasn't a big deal. I returned about a week later and paid my bill, and thanked them again. The best part was Steve the owner gave me a free car wash after hearing my story. They won my service work and i would recommend them to anyone. Customer service is long gone in so many places now a days, but these guys nail it every time!
Pros: double thumbs up!

I recently brought my car into Bobby and Steve's before knowing their reputaion for cheating people. I took my car in early one morning for a minor repair. A couple hours later I recieved a call from them quoting the job at over $1000. This mechanic proceeded to list item after item I would need to fix in order to drive my car. I immediaty called another shop who told me to pull my car out of there and said this company is known for cheating customers. When I tried to pull my car out I was told I still owe them $600 for the parts they had to "special order". Long story short, I got my car out although still had to pay them $100. I took my car to another shop who replaced the worn $7 part. My bill total with this other shop was less than $200 with other work included.
Please stay away from these guys until they learn how to play fair.

All I wanted was my heater in my car to work. I took my car to this place because it was open late. I dropped it off for a diagnostics and they called me when they had taken a look. Not only did they tell me that I needed a new thermostat (mine was stuck open) they wanted to charge me $260 for replacement. The part costs $9. I bought one myself. Then they proceeded to ask me if my battery was acting up and I told them no, no problems. They said it looked like a science experiment-battery acid everywhere, leaking on my wires and warned me of the future impending doom. This battery is less than 2 years old, DieHard Gold. I have no problems and there was nothing but usual corrosion noticable. They also said I had a major leak in my emissions system. This all would be a separate $500+ fee. I told them to leave my car alone, just perform the oil change that I had a $15 coupon for.
What a joke.
Pros: Open Late
Cons: Bad Customer Service
