We wish Westgate had a puppy wellness program - like Banfield Clinic.
Our puppy is leary around strangers and the doctor took her time and even sat on the floor to examine him. That was impressive. The front desk staff are always friendly and offer treats.
The puppy training offered was "okay". We thought the content was good but the room was crowded (size & # of attendees)

We have taken our dogs and cats there for many years... at least 18 yrs. The staff is always kind. You have a choice of vets to work with. For some reason if you have a personality conflict with one there is someone else you can see, and not feel guilty about it. One of our dogs just hated this one vet. No clue why, but there was no problem trying someone else and it worked out great. We have found the care to be above average. Perhaps the fees are a bit high but we feel that they are not too far out of line. The times that we needed specialized care that they could not provide, we were referred to specialist that were excellent. Just like with your own medical care it is always best to shop around to find the right fit. Vets should be no different.

I've been taking my dogs there for over 5 years. I've recently decided to switch vets, after someone at the dog park also complained about them and had switched vets. I think Westgate's prices are really high, and service is average. You spend most of the time with the vet assistants and they always seem to be training in someone new.
For example, yearly shots should not cost $250.00-$300.00. To get one of my dogs fixed will cost $500.00. A comparable vet a mile away charges half that.
I haven't seen anything at Westgate to justify charging that amount.

Our little dog actually likes to go to the vet. Their staff are so nice and accomodating as well as knowledgable. They all demonstrate a sincere love of animals. They offer training classes, medications, petfood and they will even help you find a dog sitter if you are going out of town. We won't take our dog anywhere else. All of our neighbors go there as well. We're so lucky to have a great team of vets in the neighborhood.
