The Minnesota Sculpture Garden is a must see for Minneapolis tourists. It is located next to the Walker Art Center outdoors. The sculpture garden's most famous exhibit is the Cherry on a spoon, that many will see in ads for Minneapolis. It is huge and impressive when you see it in person. There are many other sculptures made by artists in the garden. The area is landscapted beautifully and the view of downtown Minneapolis from the Garden is outstanding! Nearby you will find many wonderful restaurants, theatres, and other area entertainment. Check out the sculptures and then head across the street to Loring Park.

While meandering through the gardens, it's easy to forget that you're in a city. Many of the sculptures are significant contributions to the development of three-dimensional art. A fun place to go on nice days. The adjoining footbridge which connects the sculpture garden to Loring Park is interesting as well, with a John Berryman poem displayed across the length of the inside of the bridge. I can get lost in here for hours!!

What a wonderful place to spend a lazy weekend afternoon, strolling or reading a book. It’s beautiful in any weather. Some sculptures sort of puzzle me though, but most I really enjoy. Cherry on a spoon is one of those special things everyone has to look at while visiting Minneapolis. The park has an awesome location, too – close to everything.

An urban gem! A great place for a contemplative stroll alone, a romantic walk, or a visit with the whole family. A very accessible way to view sculpture, and not feel confined by or scripted. The experience of sculpture, set against the backdrop of the well-manicured greenery, and a brilliant blue Minnesota sky is not to be missed! A much easier way to introduce the beauty of art to kids or those who don't necessarily express interest in museums. You can easily spend 10 minutes there, or a couple of hours.

The Minneapolis Sculpture Garden is a nice oasis right next to downtown Minneapolis. Wandering through the sculptures is a great date night activity (and probably makes you look at bit more cultured than you really are). The little conservatory in the park provides views of some plants you won’t often see in the frozen tundra we call home.
Worth every penny of admission! ;)

The Minneapolis Walker Sculpture Garden is one of my favorite spots in the Twin Cities. It is near the Guthrie Theater, Walker Art Museum and Loring Park. It's a great location, very green. Not very quiet though, a highway entrance is nearby.
This is where you'll find the famous sculpture of the cherry on the spoon, not sure of the actual title of the sculpture. There are several other marvelous pieces in the gardens.

Not only is the park beautiful (and free to visit) - but there is also an amazing conservatory on the grounds. It is called The Cowles Conservatory and it is wonderful.
My husband and I love to stroll through the park to view the art, people watch, and talk.
You can also walk over the bridge and visit a restaurant in the Loring Park area.
Great place for kids and adults! Check out the Walker Museum while you are there too!
