I used to shop at Aldi in college because I had to. Now I find myself running there because I want to. The prices on basics are always good, though you cannot always assume that what you need is going to be in stock. The prices on specials are often crazy good, and to get them you have to be there early and be prepared to try more than one location if it was a hot item.
They seem to have expanded their specialty food items which always makes for a fun night of trying new foods and most of them are pretty tasty! Also good are some of the non-food items in their sales fliers. Last year I picked up a brand new, not reconditioned iPod shuffle for $59! Six months later that is still $10 than I have seen it at the big box stores.

I enjoy shopping at Aldi. The store offers low prices on basic groceries. Aldi is unique. You rent a grocery cart for a quarter. Grocery bags are for sale. I bring my own bags, or I use boxes that are usually available in the store. Aldi employs a variety of techniques for keeping their prices low. I find Aldi's prices to be a good value, particularly for milk, eggs, bread and produce. The lines can be long at the checkout, but I have rarely had to wait more than five minutes.

Aldi's a great store. Yes it is a mess sometimes... or most of the time, yes the employees are generally rude, yes you have to pay for your grocery bags, yes you have to deposit a quarter to use a cart, but it is all worth it. You can save soooo much money shopping here it's ridiculous. The great thing is that the food is inexpensive but the quality is usually very good. I would suggest going during off peak hours, because like other have mentioned the store can get crazy busy. Go on a weekday at night and you'll be through the line faster than most grocery stores.

I kid you not. I finally went back to ALDI's this past weekend after not being there in over six months. Hoping that things had improved.
Albeit, the prices are terrific. But let's talk about the other conditions.
The store is always a mess. I dont care what time of day or night you go in.
Product strewn on the floor, or pallets of merchandise blocking aisles.
Empty boxes in the freezer and dairy cases..that YOU have to move. Why? The ONLY two associates are running the registers.
Which brings me to the worst of it.
This last, and final trip...the lines were all the way back to the END of the store. Nearly 3/4's of the way down TWO aisles.
UNREAL.
A waste of my valuable time.

Aldi's is a great place to get some groceries if your money supply is low. I like to go there to stock up, but sometimes find that I can't find everything I am looking for. You do have to pack your own groceries in boxes collected from home, or around the store. I don't like having to buy your bags at the checkout, but I have started to just buy some and then take them back with me when I go the next time. Good alternative to Pick N Save, but if you want a bigger selection, this place wouldn't suffice.

Aldi's has rock-bottom prices on grocery items, especially for feeding a family on a budget. They are gradually adding in some brand name items, and are the best place around for stocking up your pantry or freezer.
A little $$ goes a long way at Aldi's. It took a few trips to get use to paying a quarter for your cart and buying your bags, but you quickly appreciate the fact that there are not carts in the parking lot (I just keep a quarter stashed in my car so that I always have change for my cart LOL), and bags, I recycle them and try to remember to keep a few stashed in the trunk.
Perfect place for items for kid's lunch boxes and for birthday parties. We did the food for a girl's birthday overnight party for about $30.
There are locations all over town (even suburban areas now) and always adequate parking. I especially like the one on 67th and Capitol. It's always neat and clean as well as alway adequately stocked with everything I am looking for.
