I was sad to see that Wade was selling his shop a few years back, but it seems the new owner's kept up the tradition, because the place hasn't changed a bit. They have the best small selection of awesome vintage electrics in town, plus some new electrics and plenty of acoustics. The staff is a bunch of cool guys, who are friendly and helpful. Prices are great as well. PROS: Staff is great, selection and prices CONS: none

I have had guitars fully restored here and they do wonderful work at a good price. I have bought a guitar form here, it was a high quality instrument at a good price. The staff is very accommodating, friendly and helpful. They have a great selection guitars from many different makers and in a variety of styles. Would recommend going here both for a new guitar and for repair work.

Bottom line... there is no guitar shop in Milwaukee better than Wade's. They have so many great acoustic guitars and they specialize in Martins so they have a great selection of one of the best acoustic gits ever made. They also do great repair and restoration to electric, classical, and acoustic guitars. I've bought a few pieces from them and have never been disappointed. They won't lie to you and try to disguise problems or potential issues with guitars. Overall they are honest and very knowledgable.

Wade's Guitar Shop is a veritable treasure trove of quircky, vintage guitars for musicians with gear-acquisition syndrome. Located near the UWM campus, Wade's is a great shop for strings, quitar effects petals and other random guitar paraphinalia. Also, Wade has an excellect selection of acoustic guitars. However, one of the highlights has got to be the ever-changing electric guitar selection, from top-shelf Gibson Les Pauls to really odd bright pink guitars from no-name companies that time forgot. Staff is super-friendlly whether you're spending a couple bucks on strings or buyin a 1977 Gibson SG. Wade keeps a small selection of amps, mostly small vintage tube combos.
