Ok, I live on the other side of town, but will gladly drive the 40 minutes it takes just to watch a movie here! Its so cute, the food is pretty good and its nice to be able to watch a movie on the big screen while relaxing on a loveseat with a pitcher of beer and some fried food! I've come here on dates, with a friend, and with a big group and everytime, we all have a blast!
Pros: Couch, Beer, Food, Movie - What More Can I Say?!
Cons: Parking

What a marvelous experience for most everyone. There are a few Imax films that may not be appropriate for very young children, but most are simply phenomonel.
The large screen, excellent seating no matter where you are, and superb sound quality make this a must see in Milwaukee.
The movies change frequently, so there is always plenty to choose from.
The most popular ones are often very busy and pre-buying your tickets is a very good idea.
The parking is expensive, so your best bet is to come on a Sunday, when street parking is free and pretty plentiful.

The Time Cinema I found to be a great fun time. They place old movies for the Friday Night Freak Show that runs two weekends in a row on Fridays starting at midnight. Some times they have a band live first, or give free promotional items out before the movie. It doesn’t have stadium seating, but you can expect popcorn with real butter!

Fox Bay Cinema Grill is one of my favorite date night places to go. You go there for dinner and a movie. The food is a little overpriced, but it is good. One might thing it would be fun to drink during a movie, but really, when the lights are out, you could very well put yourself to sleep. It’s an awesome date night though!

The Oriental is a Milwaukee landmark and the staff has kept it in pretty good shape through the years by renovating constantly but still keeping that 'old' feeling. Before the film starts just recline back a bit in your seat and look at the ceiling, it is absolutely gorgeous. Oriental specializes in showing more independent films that don't make it to the mainstream theaters. They also have good ticket prices so you can enjoy good cinema without breaking the bank.

The Downer is a great place to check out a flick, especially if it is one that you are having problems finding at the mainstream chains. They feature alot of the indie/documentary films that are often harder to find. Sometimes, especially on weekends the parking can be a pain and the actual theater isn't that comfortable, but hey the prices are realtively good, the staff is awesome, and the movies are hard to find elsewhere.

Great place to go to see a nearly new flick. And it IS affordable. Even the price of sodas and popcorn is slightly less than the movie theatres featuring first runs.
You can see a new release movie on the huge cinema screen for less than the price of renting it. Awesome bargain in my book.
Tuesday is the cheap cheap day. Where can you can see a flick for only a buck.
Looking for something for your kids do to? And that something to not bust your budget or your purse strings?
Go to their website, http://milwaukee.citysearch.com/profile/11275624/greenfield_wi/silver_cinemas_budget_south.html , check out the flicks playing and set up an itinary for your children, family, or whomever. Pass out a few bucks and you are well on your way to providing quality entertainment for a minimal cost.

The Oriental Theatre is my favorite place to see movies. Why? It's like a secret place that's almost magical. It was once a theatre and now they use the space for showing movies. Inside are these huge statues with glowing eyes, and it's just so royal and old. They show independent and obscure films as well as some movies you will find playing at the chain cinemas.
They have a Rocky Horror Picture Show night where you can join along in the fun with all the rest of the viewers. A team of actors/actresses act out the movie while the film is playing on the screen. Lots o' fun!

Mayfair mall is an AMC theater and has a nice stadium seating theater, its generally a little cold and the sound is always good. A ticket to get in is expensive but its one of t he only places you can get the date time rate if you show a student ID. The food is ridiculously expensive and I try not to eat there.
