I am a diabetic and thus require a deep eye exam once a year. I switched to Dr. Leffingwell in 2008. They were very thorough with my exam. He took his time and explained what he was seeing as he was doing it. He even asked me what my a1c was, so that was a good sign. Yes, they are not the cheapest, but I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for. If you want discount eye stuff, you might want to consider JCP or Wal-Mart.

Dr. Ziegler and Leffingwell are nice enough and fine doctors, but they are notoriously the most expensive optometrists in the city. I've been a patient for about 8 years and had no idea just how much more they charge for their services and products than other Optometrists. Now I see an Ophthalmologist (MD) instead. And, purchase the contacts he prescribes from 1-800 Contacts. = a net savings of over $450.00 per year.

I have been visiting Dr. Ziegler for all of my eye care needs almost since he first opened his office - some 15+ years ago. I have sent all of my family members to him and many, many friends as well. Dr. Ziegler teaches and keeps current on all the latest issues and practices in the area of eye care - this Doctor is state-of-the-art! You can find cheaper eye care - although I don't know why you would want to risk the loss of your eye sight. You can also find cheaper glasses and lenses too; I have went to many different 'FAST FOOD' places to get my prescription filled: I HAVE NEVER BEEN SATISFIED! PROS: THE BEST COSTS! CONS: NONE!

My son was referred to Dr. Ziegler by his pediatrician for a vision problem. Dr. Ziegler was all smiles and very nice to us until I asked him to write the prescription out for us so I could have it filled at another establishment, (I checked around and found Dr. Ziegler's prices were much higher than other places). We no longer give him our eye care business.
