Love the selection, the staff is great, the gift items are always fun to look at and buy for that one friend who has it all. Check out a Harry Schwartz store soon!
I have one very minor disappointment. I live closest to the Bayview store and this one is by far their smallest store. It's not set up to be a true browsing store. Very little seating and not very kid friendly. (Lots of stuff in a small space!) My son wanted to touch and grab EVERYTHING!!!!
The Bayview store is great for purchasing your books, but if you wanna hang out and enjoy the store and their selections - go to one of the bigger stores.

Barnes & Noble is a great place to go. There are not only rows and rows of books and magazines, but they have a coffee shop and a sit down place right inside. You can buy a book and get a coffee, or sit right down and read it. The store can get a little busy at times, but the facilites are large enough to hold a huge crowd. The service is great and they can help you find anything that you need. The rows are clearly marked and there are some great books on sale. They also have a music section, if you are looking for a CD or whatnot.
Good hours and a good place!

This is a nice place to go to get idea's for gifts. They have race sets, trains, games,puzzles,model kits, just about anything for kids, adults who are into hobby's. The staff is friendly and always ready to answer questions and make helpful suggestions.

My family loves books. If Schwartz doesn't have it they can find it. Their Downer Avenue store has a great selection of used books as well. Friendly and knowledgable staff that knows some of their customers by name. A small coffee counter and WiFi internet is a perfect way to spend a rainy afternoon.

My main attraction to the Woodland Pattern is the Alternating Currents Live music series that they sponsor. The series features live Jazz and Free Jazz performers from around the country. It's small intimate venue seats approximately 50 people comfortably. These events are sporadic running 6 or 7 times per year so mark your calendar.

This store is truly a little gem stuck in the middle of downtown Milwaukee. You can literally spend hours there and get lost in the shelves of books that surround you at every turn. Organization is not this stores strong suit so don't go in expecting a computerized categorizing system available at your fingertips cause ya ain't gonna find it. If you love to read, love classic literature, or love diggint through millions of books or thousands of records (got a Beatles first print of 'Let it Be' for $2) then this your place.

I've been to VCY quite a few times and even though I'm not a very religious person I can certainly see its appeal. This store has everything a good christian good want. It has the bling, bling gold crucifix neckalces, a huge seletion of books and books on tape/CD, and an absolutely insane selection of Christian and Gospel music from all sorts of different genres. If this is your thing be sure to stop by, the staff is nice and the selection is outstanding.

Plain and simple, the merchandise that they carry is very vast. From Bibles (of course) to guides, literature, knick knacks, gifts, clothing, jewelry and more.
The selection really is awesome. If you are looking for a gift for a child, adult, or even your clergy, you are sure to find something that is more than suitable and you will proud to have purchased.
They do run sales on a regular basis. And their clearance is awesome. You can really cool t-shirts for only a few bucks. And the cool ones... the ones your children will even like to wear. *wink*
For me, the best things I have found and purchased here are the Biblical study guides. The selection that they have can be compared to any of that you could find on the internet. They do carry it.
Excellent place to shop. Good parking. Friendly sales associates that are very helpful. They have helped me numerous times in finding just the *right* items for teaching Sunday School.

As a person who does a lot of shopping online, I have found that BnN is one of the best places for me to order my books. As a family we read A LOT. I can get a book for my husband, my daughter, my son, and myself in one order. If the order is $25 or more the shipping is free! I do not think that I have ever ordered less then $25. They also have a members group that if you join, gives you even more of a deal! Then member group is available in-store as well....I have never had a problem finding, ordering, and getting my books from Barnes and Noble and would HIGHLY recommend anyone checking out the store or website!!
