Horrible Place! 8/9/2011

My two dogs stayed a week here. The day after they came home my springer spaniel scratched his neck and ears raw and was diagnosed with a skin infection. 2 weeks later my lab-mix has the same infection and has no hair left on her rear end. The owner tried to say they were "allergic" to the shampoo there and needed "hypoallergenic" shampoo. My dogs are 8 & 6 and have been boarded at other facilities with no issues. My springer also goes to get shaved and groomed every three months and never a reaction. The last time I checked, you don't get skin infections from shampoo! more

not friendly, not honest, not a haven 6/12/2011

I had a horrible experience with Doggy Haven and I will never bring my pup there again. I brought my 2 year old boxer for a weekend. I was told he would be in a 'suite' with heated floors and a raised bed and would have a bath before I picked him up. when i can to pick him up I heard someone yelling at the dogs while I waited in the lobby. When he came out it was clear that not only had he had a bath, but his entire underside was shaved! I would have accepted this as a miscommunication if it weren't for the fact that the attendant snarled at me when I asked about it. Told me he wasn't shaved and rolled her eyes at me when I persisted. Seriously, she was staring me down and glaring at me. She brought the groomer out who said that my dog probably 'molted' due to the heat as 'dogs do that'. At further inspection we saw some scratched on him that could have been from play but his elbows were very red and irritated. Much like you see after a dog has slept on concrete for a couple days. I'm telling you folks, there is NO WAY that this dog was not shaved. Not a chance. more

Sad I didn't have the same experience 9/16/2008

My fault for not taking a tour before we dropped off our dog. Instead we took an tour as we dropped off our dog. The place was filthy! I was so sad because I heard so many wonderful things about this place. I decided it would be fine to leave my dog. Well, we picked her up and she had an eye infection in both eyes!! Terrible experience! more

My dog's favorite place to go........... 1/18/2007

The place is a blessing!!! I have a young Havanese and she has lots of energy. When she hears the gravel on the driveway to the daycare she starts bouncing around the car because she knows that means she gets to go play with her buddies and get lots of love and attention from the staff. I use Doggy Daycare for both daycare and boarding. For boarding each room has a small bed and a window. You can have a TV and a VCR of your family playing for your pet. There are no cages. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor space for the dogs to romp and play, along with toys. For daycare there is just nothing that beats it. The only confirmation I need is to see my dog scratching at the door to get in because she is soooooo excited to be there. I am a very protective mom of my dogs and I can recommend this business whole heartedly. more

Great Doggie Day Care at Doggy Haven! 12/28/2006

I really liked Doggy Haven (doggyhaven.com)and how they treated my dog, who has been there for day care a handful of times. The first time I picked up my dog, I received a report card, which I thought was cute (I have no children, so this was kinda like my first parent-teacher conference). My Boston Terrier didn't do too well with the small dogs so they moved him into the big dog area where he later enjoyed himself. I didn't mind the move one bit as I am confident that they would not have made this choice if it were not for my dog's best interests. I would bring my dog there more often, but it's quite a trek for me and in the opposite direction from where I work. more

He Loves It! 10/31/2006

Our doggie goes here once a week for "daycare". And he just loves it - he is always eager to go in. Our guess is that he thinks this is what we do when we go to work every day. Dogs are segregated by size into two groups, get their own food, and get a report card noting anything out of the ordinary. Aggressive dogs are not allowed. Our miniature poodle has been going weekly for more than two years and has never gotten injured or sick. Another advantage is that they do boarding. This is great because he thinks of it as a "fun place", so the boarding doesn't bother him much. We just don't let him see us bringing in his bed and food! New owners took over recently, but this doesn't seem to have affected service - which is a good thing! more

Great place if it's not too far for you to go 12/29/2005

Doggy Haven has been a great place for us to board our dog. They have the dogs outdoors playing all day - in the summer on hot days there are mini-wading pools for the dogs to play in. They separate the large dogs from the small dogs into two outdoor areas. The sleeping accomodations are separate rooms with concrete floors and walls - no wire cages. You can bring your dog's bed and some toys if you wish. more
