Peters True Value Hardware

2005 - January - purchased ARIENS snow-throw 2 stage model 824. Perfect looking machine. The sale person Peter - told me this is the best of the best. I trust him, because I purchased before Generator, tractor - never any problems. Next day the wonderful machine name ARIENS was delivered to my home. Next day - my lucky day - snow down 6" - I start the perfect machine and ........... the snow-thro didn't move back or forward and didn't throw the snow. I used the snow shovel and the old fashion job was the best way to finish. I called Peters store - warranty will cover the problem. Next 2 weeks the machine was back in my garage. I check the machine - is drive able, but no snow yet. Next 2 weeks - snow about another 8" - I started the ARIENS and want maybe 150 feet and ........ and the machines stop working again. I called again - they fixed - another 1 week. I kept my snow shovel in garage and old fashion work moved the snow from my driveway. This machine was 5 times first winter time in service. Dominic - the mechanic expert - he mentioned, that I need replacement, but owner Peter refused. 2006 winter time was this same problem. Never worked properly. Last 5 years the machine spends 22 times in repairs. Only one winter time 2009/2010 I never have a problem. This winter time - the machine gave up and the repairs cost will be over $ 500/600. The records show, the first year Peters didn't contact the ARIENS about my warranty - next 2 years they covered because he used the warranty. In present time I know why he refused to replaced the Wonder snow thrower. Personally Peters he lost customer - I will purchase maybe nails, bolts or screws. How much snow we have in Michigan - 5 to 6 times per year? If you used total 6 xs per year x 5 years= 30 times. Peters claim that replaced every time the friction plates, bushings, belts etc - first year and second year of the ownership I didn't used - the machine spend time in their shop. I paid $ 1089.00 - if you will divide by the 30 times (usage) = $ 36.00 per usage. I should more

Not only do they offer items other than traditional hardwear they are so exceptional in helping you find just what you need. The staff knows just where everything is located and they can help you with questions on how to as well. Great store! more

I love this hardware store! They always have exactly what I want, and their employees always know right where to look for it, even if you don't know the real name of the item and just describe it for them. At Christmas time, they always have some great stuff that you don't see anywhere else, especially things for putting up your decorations, stuff you can't get at Wal-Mart or Target. I once asked for screws for my license plate and they took a millisecond to get them for me, I had no clue what size I was looking for, but they sure did! more
