i love this credit union. i've used them since i was a teenager and didn't know how great i had it until i got married and we used my husbands credit union. they kept hitting us w/ random overdraft fees and once we made an early car payment loan. then we got charges a fee for the payment not being made because the "early" payment was applied as an extra that did not count as that month's payment. it was always something like that. River valley has never charged me anything. period. and i have used them for over ten years. they have overdraft protection in case you miscalculate your funds, visa debit cards so you don't have to write checks, and nice notary publics for those annoying things you have to have notarized. they even have free online banking which i love, and some saturday hours, which i have to have. i've always been very satisfied w/ them!
