I have stayed at most of the Indigo hotels. This one is best. Right on the beach, the ocean front rooms are really nice. And of course everything is within walking distance. Expensive though.

We stayed at the Alexander for our honeymoon in July 2001. It was an absolutely luxurious experience! We were upgraded to an Oceanfront Suite that made us feel like movie stars! Definitely worth your time and money...

This hotel rocks!!! Close to clubs, beach, Ocean drive and no where near those outragious prices!!! Run dont walt to this hotel!! If youre looking for parking there is a garage secured by gaurds 2 blocks north, just lock it up and enjoy your stay!! Mitch is the greatest!!!!!
PROS: great location, Mitch was great!!! I send all my friends!!!!

There are huge plasma tv's in the room ... and they have platform beds and great service!!! The beach is literally across the street, and all the hot places in South Beach are within walking distance. They have a good sushi bar in the hotel, and they have a lounge/club in the basement that has really great drinks ... and really great three dollar shots! I loved it, my friends and I had so much fun getting to dance in the club downstairs! All of us girls decided that we are going to have another South Beach vacation, and the best part is we don't have to go searching for a good hotel ... we already found the best!!!!

What fun to stay somewhere with the glamour of old hollywood on the walls. It was great to imagine Sammy Davis, Lucy and Desi and everyone walking in the same lobby. the rooms were large and clean and the beds extremely comfortable. Our view of the bay kept me entertained.

I moved to this hotel from another and for only $10 more a night, the difference in quality and service was huge. It's a nice-looking place, with a good pool and restaurant that serves good food, clean, quiet and comfortable rooms, and right on the beach. I looked at several hotels in this price range and this is the best by far!

This was my first time to Florida, and some of the reviews I read before I left got me disenchanted. Claims were made that the people in South Beach, namely employees are rude...NOT THE CASE. I found that everyone from my hotel clerk (Jason), to the staff at the bars and restaurants were all friendly. Back to Jason, from the Penguin Hotel staff. This guy helped me out on everything from restaurant reservations to transportation. This guy went the extra mile. Location was great, right on Ocean Dr. Walking distance to a couple favorite night spots. Rooms were great, not suites by any means, but you only sleep there. The beds were really comfy, and the staff cleaned the rooms everyday with precision. The price was right if you hunt far in advance as I did. All in all, great place to stay, LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!
