My husband & I had a wonderful, romantic dinner recently at The Melting Pot, and we can't wait to return! It was his first fondue experience & my first time at this particular location. The bar looked like a fun place to hang out, but I have to admit - we went to dinner rather early by Miami standards, so nobody was living it up at the bar even by the time we left.
The staff definitely tries to sell you on the "Big Night Out" 4-course meal, but we were completely satisfied with the "Fondue for Two" 3-course meal that didn't include the fancier cuts of meat. We also shared a Flaming Turtle chocolate dessert fondue & it was delcious!

The first thing is this. Karu has new owners and chef. To be fair to them you must disregard any reviews before December 2008. The new owners took over and revamped the whole place from top to bottom. Including decor and staff. The place is out of control! You can basically go to five different clubs or lounges in one night without leaving. The place is huge with indoor and very tropical outdoor areas. One area has cabanas with a stream running in front of them from a reflecting pool. You cross little bridges to get to them. There are waterfalls and waterwalls all over the place. Very relaxing. The staff is great too. The bartenders are very accommodating and helpful. The security staff is a big presence there so you feel comfortable but they are not in the way. You can?t just walk through the door but at the same time, they realize how the economy is and are a little more lenient these days. They still do a great job of keeping the place packed with beautiful people and keeping the rift raft out. Now the food. One word describes the food. Ridiculous! Yes in a good way. The new chef is just amazing. There are 3 different menus. There is something for every one. If you want an incredible sit down dinner, you got it. If you want some kicked up bar food, you will be more than satisfied or if you just want a snack, you can have that too. They serve food all night long. I think until 3 or 4 am. I recommend the Kobe Beef burgers and the Lobster Corn Dogs. Yes, it is true it isn?t in the best area. However, the owners have worked out a deal with the Miami Police to beef up patrol of the area. They have valet or a good option is a cab. I took a cab from SoBe. It was $15 each way with tip. Valet is $20. For $10 more, you can take a cab from just about anywhere in SoBe. Venture downtown and check the place out. You won?t be disappointed.

This is my first review...ever. I'm not a review writer as a general rule. I usually save my opinion for people who ask for it. Unless of course it's a call of duty...such as today.
It is my duty to tell you that Casola's is awesome. I've had pizza all over the world...in Naples, even, where pizza was invented. Casola's is by far my favorite. I live in California and only come to Miami to visit in-laws. Casola's is my only upside. It's a dump...that's true but I don't go there for ambience. I go there for pizza: It's thin and perfectly crispy and the sauce is both salty AND sweet. It's genius. Don't be a heretic and get toppings...cheese is the ONLY way to go...if you want toppings, get the Calzone. I hear those are great too.
This pizza is so good, in fact, that I actually had them freeze two large pies and ship them from Miami to California. (true story) because I am so addicted and because they are so delicious!
If you are a real pizza lover...you owe it to yourself to at least give Casola's a try. Despite the fact that the first slice is not free...trust me, there's a good chance you'll get addicted!

I live in Homestead and we travel at least once a week to eat our favorite is the mushroons and chicken over pasta. loaded with mushrooms and a whole chicken breast my husband and I sometime order 1/2 meal or buy a whole and share it is enough for both of us to eat. Now the Bread is to die for but don't kiss anyone after you eat it. The garlic is wonderful and powerful. I just wish there were 10 stars because that is what I would give it. Now we see that one is coming to FL City and everytime we go to walMart he will say lets eat at the Big Cheese. Just to get me excited and it isn't open yet but you can be asured that the day it opens I will be waiting in line. I have been going there for over 12 years and we and my whole family love it. And to you that has a negitive comment do you work for another Pizza place because I cannot believe no one wouldn't like the Big Cheese. Keep up the good work.
Pros: The Best pasta in Town
Cons: I eat to much bread LOL

This place is decorated and has a theme of the Miami Hurricanes. Besides the decorations, the food is outrageous. It is so good...that sometimes..you will have to wait outside about an hour and a half to two hours. They mainly serve italian foods. So, go with a big appetite. They serve a lot.

Ok, I'm going to disagree with the Spumoni Gardens or (L&B) resemblance because it's far from L&B quality. I know, I used to live a few blocks from L&B and we called it Ground Zero we spent so much time there. However, their lines do remind me of L&B.
Anyway, to those that are unfamiliar with New York pizza, you'll never understand the value of this place and what they do. As New Yorkers we LOVE our Pizza and we search all over Florida for the place that best meets our expectations of a true New York style pizza slice. This place has met those expectations with me, hands down. The crust isn't just undercooked dough. It's crunchy as it should be. The pizza doesn't collapse when you fold it. The crust is crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside as it should be. This place is my dream spot if I can't make it up to Brooklyn. Try it. They're open very late.
Pros: REAL PIZZA. FINALLY!
Cons: Can't think of any

More 2 years ago
This is by far the most authentic Cuban ambiance in town! I love going to Versailles because it's the only place in Miami where the 1980's Cuban-American style lives on. The city has changed drastically during the 90's and 00's, somehow this place has remained immune to those changes. People coming to Miami looking for a taste of real Cubans should go to Versailles.
Sure there are a lot of other places to go for Cuban food. You could go to Hialeah or the dozens of little places around 8 street. What makes Versailles different is that it truly has a feel of that "old exile" group. You are guaranteed to hear real Cuban accents and know you're surrounded by people who hate Castro (priceless).
As for the food? I recommend the croquette platter and the calle ocho special sandwich (my favorites). Also, if your new to Cuban coffee, make sure to order a cortadito or a cafe Cubano, either one is great!
Finally, comparing Versailles to Denny's is simply ridiculous. Denny's is pretty dirty, full of teenagers, and lacks any sort of ambiance. Versailles on the other hand is a casual eatery where you'll find a wide range of customers (from the typical Cuban-American to the German tourist), good food at low prices, and it just oozes old style Cuban ambiance.
Pros: Cuban Ambiance!
