The Miami Metrozoo is a fun place for the whole family. The zoo is big enough to spend a full day but small enough that you can cover the entire park in one day. There's everything from giraffes, elephants, tigers and lions, to monkeys, kangaroos and turtles. There's even a petting zoo and a carousel. Rent a multi-person bicycle to get around the park easier.

The Miami Metrozoo is a great environment with many different animals. I think it is a perfect informative place to take the kids, they enjoy it so much. I was amazed with the variety of animals that i've never seen or heard in my life. The good thing is that the animals live in their natural environment. Also, you can take the train on your way back to the exit.

Miami Metrozoo is a zoo that is great. It got hurricane damage back in 1992 with Hurricane Andrew and then got another chunk of damage with the most recent hurricanes such as Wilma. But, overall, this is a zoo that is very well designed. It could use more animals and maybe a theme park or something. I believe the county has plans for something like this but they have not approved it yet. We shall see what the outcome is.

This zoo is huge so you'd better plan to spend the whole day there. We didn't get there until about noon and we only made it through half of the zoo. Granted, we were going at a 2 year old's pace, but we put her in the stroller for a lot of the time, too.
We went through the side that has the African animals. It was beautiful as this is a cageless zoo, we were ablet o see the animals in "their natural habitat".
The trail had lots of stopping areas where you can cool off with misters, sit under a gazebo or just rest at a bench. The path was also lined with soda machines.
They offer stroller and bike rentals to help you get through the zoo a little more efficiently, if you didn't come prepared.
They've thought of everything. It's worth the money. If I lived closer, I would have become a member.

Metrozoo is probably the best zoo in South Florida or maybe even the only one for that matter. There are a wide variety of animals to see from bears to alligators. The park also has (or at least used to have) a raised tram which circled the zoo while at the same time allowing you to look down and see the animals. Overall, the zoo is pretty fun and is worth a visit if you or your child is into animals. I'm not sure about cost, but it could be fairly costly to go. Unfortunately, the zoo has had several problems over the years with hurricaines and other events which may mean it isn't in the best codition or perhaps might be lacking in exhibits as a result.
