If you are looking for a particular rare book or are just looking to browse around for some titles that are a bit more challenging than the typical stuff on the best sellers list than this is the store for you. The staff is quite knowledgeable and can give you useful suggestions based on your tastes. They not only have a huge section devoted to fine literature but they also carry a fairly extensive collection of art books and children’s literature as well. This is a nice alternative to the standard mega book store chain which sometimes may have better prices but does not always have room for some of the more scholarly or obscure titles.

Nice setting. Had a open setting with comfortble seats. It doesn't have the great selection like a barnes and noble does but it is still quite decent. The people were very friendly. They host a lot of special events and offer autographed books. The prices were also decent. It is an independent bookstore that does not dissapoint.

Well they have a lot of books. They have collections of books and stuff but didn't have the books I wanted. They have bigger collections than the other book stores but I wouldn't recommend this to just anyone. It really depends on what you are looking for. If you just want to browse, go right ahead. You can read there if you want. The atmosphere was kind of messy tome. Overall, okay.

Since opening up literary across the street in the early 80's this has been Miami's best bookstore. Beautiful old fashion store with lots of wood floor- to-celing bookcases surround a courtyard perfect for a snack or a cup of espresso along with dessert from the cafe or a glass of wine from the bar. Great selection of art/design/photography books. Also has a nice selection of antiquarian and children's books. Almost nightly book readings from some of the country's top authors. Owner Mitchell Kaplan is the founder of the Miami International Book Fair, one of the largest in North America.

This place is very interesting. It sprawls around a courtyard - the set-up feels like you are in your well read uncle's study. With a café and friendly staff - it is very welcoming. It has a personal touch larger chain bookstores have lost in corporatizaiton. Parking can be a hassle - bring quarters because once you get there you are going to want to hang out for awhile. Good place to meet people.
