If you're on the lookout for a something your kids will really get happy about, but hate Chuck E. Cheese, then Cool de sac is the place for you. My children (two boys, 4 and 7) have been members almost since the first day the doors opened and they want to go back again and again.
The activities are all designed to stimulate creativity and interest. Toys are the building kind (Lego, K'Nex, and a new kind they added last week), the craft area is fully stocked (glue, glitter and all), and the dress-up area has a wide variety of girl and boy costumes. Computers are no cheap PC's but large-screen Macs loaded with fun educational software in favorite Nick Jr. characters. And get this, for grownups, WI-FI IS FREE, so you can work (or surf eBay ) if you have to, while the kids have a blast.
But best of all are the KIND young staff who attentively help your kids have as much fun as possible (Andre is a real gem). You can literally sit back and watch your darlings have a grand old time.
WHAT PARENTS LOVE: The kids' menu is packed with hidden VITAMINS that your kids will devour without even noticing. And the grown up menu is sophisticated (seared tuna salad, three kinds of unbelievably good humus and wine by the glass are just the beginning) and completely delicious! Try getting that at Chuck E. Cheese. The service is good (ask for Michael) , the kind you'd expect in a good cafe.
SAFETY IS NOT A CONCERN: Kids and parents are wristbanded with matching bands so kids can only leave with the matching parent. Plus childless adults are not allowed in the front door, no matter how much they claim they are only coming for the gourmet food.
This place is a really great idea, executed with thoughtfulness and creativity. Bravo, Cool-de-sac!
Pros: Both your kids and you want this badly.
Cons: They haven't opened up the other locations as yet.

Hard to believe that some people found this place less than fantastic. Several other moms had recommended this place, so we finally took our two boys (4 & 6 ) this past Saturday. We wish we wouldn't have waited so long! We could have enjoyed many a hot summer day in this air-conditioned haven.
We felt the entry price was fair for all the stuff they had for the kids. Ours loved the computers and spent lots of time building things with the Legos. My hubby and I enjoyed (YES ENJOYED) a nice lunch. We started with spring rolls. they had two dipping sauces that were amazing! I had a thai chicken salad - plenty of food and my hubby had the meat pizza on wheat crust. We got a quesadilla and cheese pizza for the kids. They actually add a sweet potato sauce to the quesadilla and kid pizza! How neat is that? My boys ate them up! Our server was a very nice young lady, but it seemed like all of the employees were more than happy to help if anybody asked for anything.
All in all, we loved it. We had a nice "family" day together and definitely plan on going back again soon! They are open for dinner, too, so maybe next Friday...
BTW, they do birthday parties, too. One of the employees gave us a tour of the party rooms - very fun - one is like a little disco. We booked our 4 year old's party for September while we were there. They include everything in the price - even stuff for the parents...Check it out.
Don't miss out on this great addition to the Miami area!
Pros: Friendly staff, great food for adults and healthy food for kids
Cons: Not really - except I hope they don't get too busy, so we can't enjoy it!

My daughter is 5 years old and we have become great fans of this place. I live in South Miami and find it to be a great place to hang out. Yes it's $14 per kid, but hey, it's indoors and she plays for hours! I was recently there on a Saturday and met a friend we had not seen in a long time. Our daughters played non stop for 3 hours, took a break and had some very "yummy" chicken strips and sweet potato fries and then proceeded to play for another 2 hours. We were there a total of 5 hours. We had 3 different waiters. None of them were rude, we had some very descent food. (Great Pesto Chicken Sandwich) and we got to catch up over a glass or two of wine. They went from station to station, but they seemed to gravitate to the dress up station where the attendant was giving them "makeovers" . After they had their nails painted for about the 5th time, I suggested that they play in the indoor play gym.
I found this place to be very clean, although I'm sure a place where kids are continually running around does get dirty. I have recommended this place to about a dozen or so moms and they all love it.
I have gone there several times during the week to have my daughter play while I work. I take my laptop (free WIFI) and my cell phone and I can work a few hours without feeling guilty that she is bored at home.
I think the 16 year olds that they have watching or attending to the kids do a decent job. After all, this is not a place where you drop off your kids. You are still the parent and should always supervise your children.
I for one love Cool-de-Sac and I am thankful and happy that they came out with a discount card. Now I can go a couple of times a week instead of just one! It's my daughter's first suggestion every time she wants to go somewhere. Worth every penny.
Pros: They can play for hours.
Cons: They can play for hours. (hard to leave)

I was waiting for this place to open and I was telling all my friends and family about it, I thought "WOW" what a cool place. I gave this place a try on a Saturday night they close at 9:00pm it was about 7:45pm when we paid our dues at the door. At 8:30pm we were getting the dirty looks to get out from everyone so at 8:50pm we were out the door and they were shutting off the lights right behind us very rude! I made another attempt on another Saturday night at 7:00pm.
They say there is a person in every area supervising not true been there twice and never seen anyone in the toddler area. There were older kids throwing toys around almost hitting my 1 year old. I informed the hostess and nothing happened.
Toddler area is extremely dirty be very careful with your toddler we found food in the ballyard. The toys are missing parts and are dirty which wouldn?t happen if you had responsible people supervising the areas.
We wanted to sit next to the toddler area? waited 30 minutes for a waiter. After I informed a waitress of our existence and the manager no one came and the manager had the nerve to say ?when we get really busy they overlook those tables?. HELLO!! If you can?t handle the crowd then why open up such a place.
We left and got our money back I?m never going back. Very disorganized, dirty, rude staff and manager. Extremely disappointed and overpriced for what you get. I gave them two chances and they blew it both times. If you care about the safety and enjoyment of your baby this is not the place for them.
Pros: Cool Setting
Cons: Food and Staff

My daughter, 4 years old, truly enjoyed her time here. She started off with the arts and crafts center and the staff was very friendly and helpful. She then moved on to the play area which included a structure with slides and steps. Perhaps her favorite area was the dress up and make-up section where one of the workers gave her lots of attention. The food was good but not great. The area seemed safe and I could watch my daughter throughout the area from the central cafe section. It is a little pricey so it is only worth it if you can spend 2-3 hours there. Older children, ie older than 10, may not enjoy it as much as younger children. We also went on a weekday which probably led to a different experience from the previous review since it was not so crowded.
Pros: Lots of activities for younger children
Cons: Cost

I attended last Sunday May 4th and to my surprise it sucked! I spent over $50 to get in with my kids and their friends to find out that they only offer legos, a few computers with cheap games, a kindergarten version of arts and crafts. Yes they had a play pen with some weird kid chasing little boys and girls. I don't believe a 16 year old is responsible enough to watch over 30 kids. The service in the dining area was horrible I had a waiter named Michael who was way too touchy feeley and some obnoxious man in a sports coat staring at me smiling with a fake grin, later to find out that he was the owner. The staff seemed to be very lazy and did not care about a thing except talking amongst themselves. The food was not as described it was cold fries and soggy sandwich. When I read the menu initially I thought I was in for a gourmet treat. Instead I got a lame meal for a price that was too over the top! I will not be going back no my friends for that matter. Cucky Cheese seems a better bargain that this and that is sad. I was offered free passes and party flyers but I think I will keep my pediatric practice and clients far away from this place.
Pros: They won't be open long
Cons: They won't be open long
