There is a little burger place in Meriden that I went to called Ted's famous steamed burgers which serves just that. The burgers that are absolutely succulent are steamed in a stove top steamer invented by the owner. I also had a steamed hot dog which was the juiciest hot dog i have ever eaten. I highly recommend this place. You have to bring your own champaigne as they serve only soda. Like Loui's and Yankee Doodle this place has had significant media exposure.

I saw the story about the best hamburgers in the country and tried Louie's Lunch first, (closer to my house) but Ted's was MUCH better!!! Better burger, faster service, half the price, and nicer people - both working there and customers!! It is a small place but I was offered space in a booth with another customer, and we all had a great lunch!!!! I will be going back there!!!
Pros: easy street parking

Everything is wonderful in this coffeshop...I couldnt wait for the one to open up in Waterbury...Wonderful service in Meriden...such friendly staff...clean and inviting...always packed too!!! the soups are the best...such yummy desserts and bagels...

Great food, great taste. I occasionally go to this place. My favourite - Mandarin Bowl, Panda Feast, Veggie Spring Roll. Even it has reasonable price.
A lot of area, a lot of dishes. I've visited there couple of times.

We stopped in looking for burgers and beer in the middle of a long drive from VT to NJ. What we got was a fabulous meal with all the trimmings and the delightful coincidence of meeting the owner and finding out we'd eaten in his South Jersey restaurant years ago. He promised to buy our dinners if we weren't satisfied when we walked in--and his money was safe--one of the best meals I have ever eaten! Get the ribs--you won't be sorry and definitely won't go hungry. Thanks Mr. Jacoby!!!!

The level of attention the kitchen puts into presentation is something you might expect on a first rate cruise ship or at an overly pricey resort.
Great staff - good service and by all means if something on the "specials" menu strikes you - order it - the chef's a bit of a show off.
Piano bar on weekends with no cover.
Perfect place for a quiet romantic evening with your spouse - but affordable enough to bring everyone including the grandparents.
Probably the nicest restaurant for 30 miles.
Pros: Not over priced , Great staff, Fabulous Chef

This is a great little place to grab a drink after work. The place is loud, but on a regular work night it is quiet. The place is generally clean, but could use a face lift. The setting is a little old looking. They do have an outside patio that is great. They have heaters that keep you warm in the winter.
