I went here for lunch and found their service excellent and a good number of choices. I settled on the spicy chicken, and the food wasn't that spicy (they are probably used to Americans complaining about spiciness so they water it down). Also they served egg drop soup which is probably prepackaged. I would not recommend this place if you want awesome Chinese food, but it is good for a quick fix.
Pros: no MSG, price, service
Cons: average, some food prepackaged

This restaurant is now located in the old Looks Pharmacy Building in the North End shopping center on Mercer Island. It's original location a few blocks away is now a block of condos. It has also undergone a name change and is now called the Shanghai Palace. That all being said, the service is excellent, the food is flavorful and about average in price. A recent dinner there for three adults that included four family style dishes and no dessert cost about $60. The biggest selling point for me about this restaurant is they do not use MSG in ANY of their food. This is critically important to people who have allergic reactions to this nearly universally used food additive in commercially prepared Asian cuisine.

A good restaurant is difficult to find on Mercer Island and Seven Stars keeps reminding us of that. The food is adequate, vegetable dishes are better than others but don't expect the caliber of some of the truly good Chinese restaurants you would find crossing the bridge for 5 minutes in either direction.
PROS: Try any of the fresh vegetables with tofu
CONS: Soups are always cold - avoid
