This is my favorite place on Mercer Island and is a great stop after a soccer game or just a fun place to meet some friends. In the summer, you can sit outside. It is a little old house which has been around for years. They have great bar food and a wonderful selections of beers and of course mixed drinks. It's family owned and I like supporting a company like this. The staff is friendly too.

My husband and I love to eat at the Roanoke on Mercer Island. Tucked into s little neighborhood, this historic little house has been situated on the same property since prohibition times. The story is, the bootleggers used to sit on the roof and watch for the ferry to arrive to smuggle their alcohol and also keep an eye on the police. No longer an illegal venture (!), this locally owned restaurant and bar boasts yummy food, good beer, and a casual atmosphere at reasonable prices. While this is not a family establishment (leave the kiddos at home), it is a great place to meet up with friends or even family! We love to send the kids to grandma and grandpa's so we can grab nachos and a beer at The Roanoke.

The Roanoke is a great pub wedged into a nice, quiet Mercer Island neighborhood.
You know the neighbors have been probably trying to get this place closed down
for years, but they haven't been successful yet.
Great place for lunch on a nice summer day, good brews and food.

This is a great spot in the summer. You can sit in either the "beer garden" or on the porch. The owners have done a great job of preserving a "taven-like" feel with a Yuppie group of customers. Service can be slow but is friendly and energetic. Are applying for a liquor permit
Pros: good beer selection, good pub grub
Cons: not rapid service
