One of my favorite Japanese restaraunts in the Bay Area. Have dinner here and walk the 20 feet to The Guild for a good independent movie, or across the street to the legendary Kepler's book store.

Allied Arts Guild is the charity which supports the Stanford Children's hospital. They also have this restaurant that is great for lunches. It is located at 75 Arbor Road at Cambridge Avenue in Menlo Park. Parking is rather difficult and I normally park on the street. The menu changes daily but it is limited to a few
items. I often take friends and business colleagues here for lunch. The setting is beautiful. It is in a beautiful old home in a residential neighborhood which is set in beautiful gardens.

I am a big pizza conisseur and love this place. Have been eating here for 6+ years and still consider it my favorite pizza place in the penisula. I love the Menlo Combo and Los Altos pizza.

Applewoods to Go is the take out arm of everyone's favorite Menlo Park pizza, Applewoods. Their hours of operations is pretty decent and the pizza is as world class as the pizza you get at the main restaurant. They also have salads and drinks ready to go.
PROS: yummy Applewoods pizza ready for take out
CONS: 15-20 min wait time, can get busy in the weekend

I love love love Applewood Pizza. It's just so yummy. Definitely a California feel to the pizza. It's got a thin crust with a variety of interesting toppings available. The pizza is a little expensive, and maybe that has something to do with the fact that every time I've been in there it's been pretty deserted. I don't know if they focus more on takeout or something, but it's always pretty dead in there.
I've only ever had pizza here, but there are a bunch of things on the menu.
