I had heard so many people say good things about Cooks that I was so excited to try it out....and then I did. It was totally fine. But really just fine. The service was fine. The ambiance was fine. The food was fine. I just really wanted it to be more. If the fish is so fresh I would have expected that it would have tasted a little bit better. It was pretty crowded and maybe it was just our table, but I felt like I was getting bumped around a lot. The prices are a little steep, but I may just feel like that because I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would.

Cook's Seafood is a local institution that sells fresh fish that you can eat there (they prepare it for you in a myriad of ways) or you can take it home and do it yourself. The fish is very fresh and the variety varies with the seasons. The fried halibut that I had recently was very tasty and not greasy and over breaded. Just perfect. I once inquired about shipping some crab across the country and they were very helpful and willing to accommodate my needs.

This is a seafood retaurant located next to downtown Menlo Park. It's not that top quality, nice restaurant type place. It is more simple and some of the fish is deep fried. I wouldn't say that the prices are low though. The service is ok, not outstanding in a good or bad way. Just regular. I didn't really enjoy their food that much, if you have had seafood the right way then this is not the place for you. Some of their stuff is deep fried, which in my opinion, ruins the food, makes it seem like fast food.
