The meal was amazing and our dessert was a wonderful top off.
I would go there again in a heart beat.
PRO: Good service, good prices, good portions

Carpaccio is tucked away on Crane St. in Menlo Park. Traditional Italian fare which is totally solid served by formally dressed wait staff. Great atmosphere and a good place for a date night conversation. Also have good half-bottles of wine including Sonoma Cutrer Chard and Ridge Zin. Lamb is a good choice. Crowd definitely skews older - probably capturing a lot of the older Menlo Park folks who used to go to Dal Buffo.

This restaurant is amazing! I have been going here for years, and then moved to New York for a few years. I am now back and am happy to see that my favorite spot is still turning out excellent dishes, sophisticated services and an all-around great night every time I go. It is no shock that most who go to Carpaccio have been coming for years. Try the carpaccio, ciya salad, calzones, and chicken paillard -- these are some of my favorites. I usually am not one to write a review, but a place like this deserves a shout out -- if you are in Menlo Park or nearby, go to Carpaccio! You won't be disappointed.

One thing I love about Carpaccio, is that its like your home away from home. The customers and staff are all so familiar. The waitstaff are the same people that have been there for the last 10 years it seems. The food is consistently good! The bar is fun to hang out with fun loving locals, and with the even more fun loving bar tenders. Its great for families too.. thats my 2 cents.. Ohh and If you cant get a reservation, I walk in anyway, and they do thier best to squeeze me in....
Pros: Fun, Free Parking

I had dinner at Carpaccio last night with a friend. I agree that service can be better, but was adequate and efficient. Food was quite good -- the soup du jour was a clam chowder that was very well done. I had veal -- the meat itself was a bit on the bland side, but overall the dish was quite tasty. Dessert was fine as well. Prices for entrees, I think, are mid range given the area - comparable to say, Don Giovanni in Mountain View - hovering around $14 - $18 for the most part. I won't say this is a place where I'd like to go every week, but I'd go back every now and then.
Pros: Food quality, Not too expensive, Good ambience

This was a terrible experience. I ordered seafood cannelloni - but it had a strange metallic taste. I tried a few more bites to see if I could get used to it (I was with my boyfriend and didn't anything disruptive) but I couldn't and had to return it. The waiter got the hostess and she removed the plate. When the bill came only 50% was taken off for my dish! I was shocked - the hostess claimed that only 50% was taken off because I had eaten half of it. What?! Even if I had eaten half the meal was so bad I returned it! The hostess basically accused me of lying about the dish quality. She was so self righteous, saying she didn't think the dish was metally. This was all literally over $10. I had enough of her, left the extra $10, and will never return.

Do not eat here unless you don't mind having things spilled on you without apology or offer of dry cleaning unless you beg for it!!!
What happened was: a busboy clearing dishes spilled olive oil on my father's lap. Without a word, he handed my father a napkin and proceeded to walk away. After ten minutes had passed, I flagged down our watier who proceeded to defer the matter to a manager. After some time, the manager appeared and after I explained the situation, asked what I wanted done about it! Any other restaurant worth its salt would have immediately apologized and offered to pay to have my father's pants cleaned. Here, I had to ASK them and even then, the response was reluctant. Needless to say, I will never eat here again or recommend it to anyone.
