I like the food at Cafe Borrone. I think they have a nice selection. And so does everyone else in Menlo Park. It is always crowded and very hard to get a table. As the food is served at the counter and you find your own table and pick it up, it is a really frustrating place to go. I've also had an issue with the employees making us move because we weren't a big enough party for the two tiny tables we were using. I don't go here as much as I would if the seating arrangements were better. They should check out the Crepevine in S.F. for good seating ideas in a small space.

the line to order can sometimes get pretty long, so you have to stand there for 10 minutes just to get your order taken. the seating is VERY cramped indoors, so the outdoor seating areas are usually where we sit. If it's windy or cold, your outta luck here. If you order food, they will bring it out to where you are sitting, which is nice.
they seem very militant about restroom use, which is a pain - i think there is only 1 restroom for a place that serves a few hundred people.

Cafe Borrone has a great selection of soups, salads and sandwiches. Their drinks are also top notch and their deserts are fantastic. The atmosphere is very relaxing and provides a great place to grab a bite to eat and sit outside near the fountain. Open late, they are a popular spot for people to come and get desert and try their outstanding coffee drinks and occasionally listen to live music. On El Camino and next to Kepler's Bookstore in Menlo Park, the location couldn't be better. Highly recommended!

If you are looking for a 'European style' café where you can sit outdoors for hours, watch the people go by and drink coffee this is the place for you. Cafe Borrone also offers great selections of desserts (love the ginger cookies) and sandwiches. Also serves breakfast food. Only downside is that it can get very busy, and so you might have to wait for an outside table during peak lunch hours.

Definitely a neighborhood hangout! situated on prime real estate, and right next to an independent bookstore -- so that you can pick up something to pretend to be intellectual while sipping your coffee! A full-service café with sandwiches, light entrées, and beverages of all flavors. Fun, exciting, and always busy, on a clear day there is no place like it! Great outside patio with a fountain nearby. This is not a place for shy people, or those that don't like crowds. The staff is friendly if a bit clueless at times. All around fun place to grab a bite or sip a brew!
