After looking all over the East Charlotte area for a daycare for my son, I was delighted and excited when a friend suggested I try Matthews Country Day.
The rooms are divided into several different learning centers with lots of books, blocks, puzzles, paints and other learning activities. There is a rather large fenced in playground in the back and a pool for the children in the summer. They also have various family activities during the year, such as parent's night out, a Halloween party, and other holiday parties.
Most importantly, the staff is caring and sensitive not only to the needs of the children but to the needs of the parents as well. I can't recommend this place enough!

ELE is as close to a private school you can get in the CMS system. What an incredible school and staff! They keep the kids on track and challenged all the time! I am absolutely amazed at some of the things my kids have learned already. My oldest daughter, who is in the enrichment programs for math and literacy, has already learned some algebra! She is in second grade! They makes sure the kids are challenged, but not left behind. The teachers--so many are nationally certified or working on it, and they are so friendly and helpful. The test scores here are incredibly high, but that is only half the story. They really care about the kids, not just the numbers!

My kids have been here for about 6 years now. My oldest attended for 3 years, my middle for 3 years, and my son is now in his second year. Each year the program improves and grows. They also have a T-K class now, which is great for late birthday kids...too young for kindergarten, but ready to leave the 4 year old class.
The teachers are fun and caring, and the director works very hard to keep the school operating smoothly. They have St. John photography out to take great candid pics of the kids, and they do themes that the kids like...emergency workers (firement, police, etc...), teeth, etc... They start at 18 months.
