My wife and myself(over 45) visited The Place this Friday night and I was pleasantly surprised.I have given the rating 4 starts(above average) for certain reasons. Firstly its a fun place. The security guys dressed up as the sheriff are friendly and welcoming. There is no entrance fee.The place is bright and colorfull and more like a sports bar than a night club, located in a good Marietta area. The air conditioning works well and the place is spotlessly clean. The dancing music is mixed, very mixed anything from oldies to hip hop and country. The Place is for an over 30's crowd for sure.I saw 30's 50's and 70 year old people having a good time, whites and blacks all dancing together to "We are Family" and meaning it. Line dancing, I believe is an institution and most people know their steps pretty well.
Another reason for giving The Place above average 4 stars is the price of the menu and the drinks. Very reasonable.I had a Greek Gyro and fries $5.95 and my wife had the Grouper fish and salad $8.95. Our bill for the evening came to $32 odd , and yes we did tip our lovely hard working waitress.
All in all a fun evening, no trouble no hassle and no great strain on the credit card.
Pros: Good mix of dancing Music and nice size dance floor.
Cons: Dance floor is near storefront windows and you can look out on carpark while dancing.(This may be a pro for some)

Our first experience with The Place was with her sister club in Town Lake. The Place at Town Lake is more of a younger crowd, and the dancing gets started much later there. Don??????t get me wrong there's nothing wrong with the Place in Town Lake but, our quest to find a place where the interest is primarily dancing eventually led us on the longer trek to The Place in Marietta. Our long quest has ended as the dancing starts early and ends late at The Place.
There are other places inbetween, and we could easily go somewhere else, but we choose week-in and week-out to come back; now we are regulars on Fri/Sat nights. The Place is it if you like dancing, partying, and friendly people. You won't break the piggy-bank going here, drinks and dinner are reasonable. The food is excellent for the price. The Grouper sandwich is awesome, but bring a big appetite or a friend. The dress is club casual to formal. Special events like the Halloween Costume party, New Years, the Luau make the holidays The Place, the place to be! We had a wonderland time Halloween and the best New Years ever at The Place.
The best feature of this club is that people hit the dance floor early and keep the floor occupied until closing time. Many regulars come from all over the metro area to party here - I think that says a lot about The Place! Most everyone is friendly and easy going with lots of regulars who make this a great place to party and have a good time. The Cons, the music is really loud; forget having a conversation with more than one person at a time (then again maybe it's not a con), Greg can get a little repetitive with his selection and more variety would be greatly appreciated. Sometimes he gets a little carried away with the disco or the country and clears the dance floor. (Hey Greg, a little more punk, a little more funk, a wider selection of dance rap) It gets really crowded at times wi

Ladies and Gentlemen. I am tired of clubs and public establishments writing their own reviews, this should not be allowed by City Search ever-my opinion! YES WE ALL KNOW WE ARE SUPPOSED TO TIP, I am sick of clubs writing their own reviews telling us to TIP! I TIP LADY!
I think "The place" is not really "The place", although it is "The place" to be if you are 45 and single! I did see one or two younger(I'm 30) girls there, but I date up to 44 yrs old-that is generally my cut-off unless they are super hott! The bouncers are wearing cowboy hats, and have small man disease, and everytime they see a muscular man, they feel like they need to puff up a little and get an attitude-not to feel small. Guys, relax, have a beer, and enjoy the view, otherwise shut-up, your not in the CIA and most of us can take you! Service=great, as long as you can barge your way through three men blocking the way, with no courtesy, unless you are a big breasted female, and sometimes that doesn't even matter because they are drunk and thirsty.
I did however go a few months ago, and had a really good time, because I danced with my woman and had drinks, so it was what I made it I guess. If you are 30yrs old, and like mature women, go there...if you are a 40 year old female, and like well dressed and hung young 30's, ask for me... the good looking Italian-dark wavey haired big guy standing by the dance floor! Just go and spend some money...YOU MIGHT LIKE IT!
Pros: Drink Prices, Atmosphere, Hook-up easily with Mature woman, Mature woman
Cons: Mature woman, Bouncers with Small man disease, Very Old Men trying to hook up-more power to ya I guess!

This place is a little whole in the wall that is great place to go for dancing. The food is bar food but the atmosphere is great. It is a fun place to go for girls night without having to drive to Atlanta. The crowd is an older one and you don't have to worry about to many crazies.

This is a great place for all ages. The music is awesome and the food is great as well. It does get a little packed on the weekends, but that's because it is a fun place to hang out with a group. Dress code pretty normal if you go out at all. No ball caps and you need to have sleeves on your shirt. And If you are used to going out, you know that you DO tip. That includes the bathroom attendent that is probably taking care of people who can't when they are too drunk to take care of themselves. Word to the party people... Don't be cheap and take care of the people who take care of you. If you don't want to spend money don't go out.
Pros: Good place to meet people and dance - hot servers and bartenders
Cons: Gets a little Crowded
