I'm not sure any of it could be bad. Butter, grease, bacon, all of the requisite good badness. I love this place, and I'd give up traditional breakfasts if they ever close life just wouldn't be the same without the 'chef.

The staff here have been working together at one place or another for what seems like decades. They have fun working, which makes for a great experience for the customers.
It's not in the best of shape, but for a burger place, need it be? The back deck has a full canopy and is protected from RT169 by them. Look into the forest and you can see the river and an old bridge. It's like you're in the middle of nowhere in some fantasy land.
The burgers are great. They are served with a delicious garlic sauce that just tastes so smooth. The fries are large steak size variety and go down great. The only complaint I have is that the beer selection is a bit lacking. They did have one bottled Red Hook, so I forgive them a bit... :)
You won't soon forget the relaxing environment and good eats to be had here.

Set alongside the Cedar River in Maple Valley, the Testy Chef Cafe are run by waitresses that have worked together for decades. The atmosphere is friendly, relaxed and casual. The little red building looks like it's been there for 50 years. In what looks like Grandma's converted porch, you can dine with a view of the river and native greenery. Although they do not have a kid's menu, they do have high chairs and tolerant of the kiddos.
The prices are between $5-$10. Although known for the garlic burger, we were told that the breakfast is most popular. When I went, I ordered the bacon cheese garlic burger, homemade potato salad and a root beer float.
If driving home from a hike at Mount Rainier on Maple Valley Highway/169, they are the red building to the right across the street from Maple Valley Market. Stop by and say,"Hi!". They open at 6am. If in a rush, they have food and espresso drive thru service.
