I used to be anti-gym. If i was going to huff & puff and sweat, I was going to do it on my own terms and without anyone watching. Then we moved to Manchester, my fiance (at the time) signed up at the gym, and he was able to add me to his black-card account for a dollar a month. With an approaching wedding, I decided to give it a shot and loved it! The employees are very friendly. The people who work out there are regular people, some more fit and some less fit than me. Bottom line: for the first time, I felt comfortable working out in a group setting. They only provide cardio equipment and weight-training, but that's all I was looking for at the time. I managed to lose the ten pounds I wanted to lose for the wedding AND I continue to go 4-5 times a week since the wedding. I never thought that would happen! Planet Fitness gets my recommendation!

I'm a Planet Fitness member who usually works out at the South Willow location, but recently a friend brought me to the mills for a Saturday morning workout. This location was not as appealing to me because of the size (the exact reason my friend likes this one better). I feel the machines are too close so I felt on top of the person next to me or in front of me. I felt cramped and a little claustrophobic during my visit, which made my workout feel less rewarding. I would definitely pick the South Willow location over this one because of it's openness. I don't mind having to walk from the elliptical to the weights, and the extra room adds a sense of relaxation.
