This movie theater is the best in the area! There are many movie thaters in the area, mostly Regal Cinemas, but this on has comfier seats, stadium seating, and more movie times. Although the food is very overpriced (same in all movie theaters though) it is a very good place to go to see a movie. If your near the Derry area I suggest you come here to see a movie!

If you're just starting out as a musician, Daddy's Junky Music is the place to buy your first instrument. They don't hassle you, the prices are the best in town, and you can pretty much play everything in the store without someone giving you a problem. They sell new and used guitars, bass guitars, drums, keyboards, amps, consoles, and anything else that you don't see in your school band. This is the best place to sell your instruments as well.

I referenced this in the Museum review, but the art center offers wonderful classes, and birthday parties for children. We held our preschooler's party here a few years ago, and it was fantastic. It started in the art center, about a block away from the museum, and we took a guided tour of part of the museum, geared toward preschoolers. Then the kids did an art project (you can pick from 5 or 6), and had cake and ice cream. The staff decorated for the party, and set up and cleaned up the project. It is not a fancy building (and was very hot in the summer), and it is a bit hard to find. But, it was great fun, and a memorable day. I've heard their numerous classes are wonderful as well, and reasonably priced.

This place is great, I go here every time I visit New England. They sell everything–from new (and used) CDs– to movies shoes, clothes, trinkets, posters, comics, books, and magazines. Every now and then you'll find something great on sale (for example: I found a new $120 pair of leather shoes marked down to $25). The staff is always friendly and helpful. You can't find a better store than this.

The Derryfield Country Club is definitely a great place to go for a round of golf! Everyone who plays golf in the area has played at The Derryfield. The pro shop is great- a bit expensive, but they have some great product! The people who work there are great, too! The customer service is great!

I lived in NH for a few years before I stepped into the Currier. One day, after attending a fair in a nearby park, my husband and I started strolling around and ended up in a thickly settled residential neighborhood. Asking a passerby if there was anything around or if we should head back towards Elm Street, he pointed and said, "Have you been to the Art museum - it's just over there!". After visiting the Louve in Paris and the MoMa in NYC, you tend to be an art snob when it comes to museums and what you go for. But, I thought, "be open minded" and so we went. Fortunately, we were there during the free hours on Saturday morning, so for free, we didn't even hesitate to check it out. Approaching the building, I was impressed - it's beautiful. But the fun didn't end with the facade, the interior was also lovely. I was so impressed - how could I have missed this place after living in NH for over 2 years? The overall feel to the rooms is elegant and lovely - exquisite! We were there during the James Aponovich show, so we thoroughly enjoyed that since he uses vibrant happy colors and is actually a resident artist at the school I attend - NHIA. We really enjoyed the gift shop too - and the museum in general was great. We will go back, for certain. It's small, but small is good because often going to big city museums, although exciting, can drain your energy. The Currier is a nice 2 hour museum where we can see everything and still have energy to go for lunch, shopping, and whatever else you've got planned for the day. I would also suggest taking children here - it's a good "starter" museum to gear them up for when you eventually drag them to the MFA in Boston. Moral of my story - don't be a snob - size doesn't matter - check out the Currier Museum of Art - it's a don't miss!

The Manchester Monarchs have been a strong team since they were created. They have made it to the playoffs several times. I have always had a fun time at the games at the Verizon Wireless Arena. The promotions they do are amusing, and usually original (including the infamous Mullet Night) The fans are deeply involved and very passionate about the program. For example, at a hockey game for another area team, the Monarch fans were louder than the local fans. Great fun, even if the prices seem high for local sport event.

This has been one of my favorite guitar stores from over the years. The staff is easy going friendly and seem much more focused on their and others passion for music and interest in learning than sales. They try and find the best, not most expensive fit for you. I have also taken lessons through them and find them very reasonably priced and beneficial. The store is sizable with lots of different items and miscellaneous accesories.

It's actually extremely nice to have a dive shop around the area. I didn't even know this existed until a couple years ago. Most of the dive shops people are aware of are closer to the coastal region, in Portsmouth and Rye. These guys offer alot however. Just check out their website: http://www.diversdendiveshop.com/ , and you'll see they offer plenty of classes and actually have regularly scheduled dives and trips people are more than welcome to join in on for the appropiate fees. Friendly staff, well worth checking out.
