After being measured and ordering an outfit for my wedding in Feb 2009, I received a call from (ash) the owner saying that part of the outfit I ordered was discontinued (which was the jacket for my suit) I told him that I wanted to cancel and get my $200.00 refund returned, I was told that I could not have a refund and I had to get another top. I told him I did not want another top this is my special day and I don't want to settle for second best. He told me I could not get my money back and I had to choose another top. I don't like to fight so I did as he told me. WELL after waiting for 3 months, I heard nothing from this store so I called on May 30th and he said your outfit is here I wanted to come in that day he told me no that I could come in on Saturday, I went in on Saturday to try on my outfit, (which they ordered 4 sizes to big) the outfit was in awful shape, hooks broken zippers not good beside being so big the pants kept falling off. I was told it could be altered (WELL that is another $200.00) I waited for 2 hours to be fitted and the owner told me it would be another hour or so. he asked me to leave and he would call and make me an appointment I said why can't I make it now, he said no and again said he would call. He never called and I returned to the store on Tuesday June 2, Ash was not there and still no appointment for alteration. I requested my money back . I was very upset with the service and did not like what they ordered in place of what I wanted.I was told I could not get a refund, was was not welcomed in the store, now he has my outfit and my $200.00 deposit. I hope this helps others not to go to this store. This man CAN NOT BE TRUSTED. PLEASE be careful of what you order and what you get. Do Not put a large deposit like I did, if your wise you won't enter this store. I am going to try and either get my money or at least that garbage he tried to pawn off on me. rating is required to send this. Linda and I placed 2 orders with this establishment on Feb 2009, Linda ordered a size 16 I ordered a size 14, what finally come in on May 30th was a size 20 and a size 18, now we can be chargeed for very high priced alterations. My outfit was not what I ordered and he told me he was right and I was wrong. that I would have to take what he ordered and there was nothing he could or would do to help me out. he asked me to leave and told me he would call me Tuesday June 2nd he never called, so at 2:30 I went to the store to request my money back, he was not there and after waiting for an hour we left and half an hour later he called on my cell phone and told me he could do nothing!! that I got what I ordered and I could not have my money back and not to come back to the store. so now he has my money and both outfits. I am so upset I gave this man Ashe a $400.00 deposit which I was very stupid to do, but I really felt that he was honest and we would get what we ordered. I am going to continue to fight this, but just wanted to let others be ware, He is not an honest man and be very careful what you order and sign for. I did not sign for anything, he did not have me sign a form, I am contacting an attorney and the Consurmer Protection . Dont make the same mistake I did. This message requires me to rate this store I give no stars, but I must check one in order for this message to be put on line. My wife and 2 (8 & 10 years old) daughters were bridesmaids in a wedding and the bride chose East-West Bridal for her gown and her brides maids gowns because the price "looked" less expensive than others she had seen. This was true...but. Where they get you is with the alteration. The measurements were taken and the dresses were ordered. They would not give my wife a price for the alteration when they were taking the measurements...even though she asked numerous times. So she was shocked by the alteration prices of $102 for each gown. Worse still was that the quality of the work and material was poor. On the day of the wedding the zipper was stuck on one dress. And this was the first time taking it off the hanger after trying it on at the shop. On my wife’s dress the seam on the zipper was sewn poorly and left a big gap. So at the time they were supposed to be at the bride’s house we were driving, a half hour out of our way, to the shop for repairs. The owner was not very concerned and would not give any of the money back because of the poor workmanship. By the end of the reception the zipper on my other daughters’ dress was also wrecked. I didn’t even elaborate on the rudeness of the rest of the sales staff. Lower price gown + high price alterations + poor quality material + poor workmanship = $$$ + STRESS We sent in a letter of complaint to the Department of Consumer Protection and we were told that the only way to get reimbursed would be if there were more people sending in their complaints. So, if you have had something happen to you like this, please write the State of Connecticut and maybe we can stop this racket. Sorry to be so long winded, but be careful if you choose to buy here, your special day may be very stressful...I know ours was. Pros: None Cons: Many - doesn't even deserve 1 star!

I bought my wedding dress at East West bridal and was happy with it. I thought the price was reasonable on the dress, but I did not purchase my shoes, accessories, bridesmaid dresses or alterations there due to price and lack of selection. The salesman seemed to care more about money than your special day and the selection of dresses in each size was small so if you saw a dress that you liked but they didn't have a smaple in your size you were out of luck for envisioning how it would look on you. I got lucky and found a sample that ended up being my chosen dress in my size. It is a small boutique and definitely worth looking at as it is not as overwhelming as the big stores.

I have been reading some of these bad reviews for this place and am really surpirsed! I had a WONDERFUL experience at East West. I got married over a year ago. I was recommended by a friend to go here because of their great prices and selection. I found my wedding dress immediately and had a lot to choose from in my price range. I also brought my bridesmaids there to get their dresses and they loved them. We had such a great experience with these dresses that my mother and some family members all bought their dresses there, too! Everything came in on time and looked beautiful. We had great service and a great experience! I would recommend this place to anyone. Pros: great selections and prices Cons: none

When my daughter wanted to shop for a wedding gown, our first (and only) destination was East/West Bridal. We had purchased bridesmaids gowns for my own sister's wedding 5 years ago, so we knew we would be treated well. When we walked in, Ash, the owner recognized us! We picked out gorgeous gowns for the bride and for me. The tricky part was scheduling fittings for my daughter, who is in the military and stationed out of CT. She had her initial fitting at Thanksgiving, and the final 2 days before the wedding. Ash and Dora, the seamstress, made sure all work was done beautifully and on time. The bride sparkled in her snow white gown as she stood with her groom in his dress whites. We feel that we have friends at East/West. Pros: SERVICE- kindness of staff! East West Bridal is NOT the place to look for any kind of dresses. They are very rude, their dresses are over-priced, considering they get them made in CHINA for Pennies on the Dollar. They have a standing policy of fitting you into a dress that you will automatically need very expensive alterations. Their seamstresses are just as shady as the owner and are in on the hustle and shakedown that goes on in their shop..PLUS they have absolutely no talent and will cause you to need repeated alterations just to get the fit close to your proper measurements. If I had to guess, the owner brought in his family members to pretend to be seamstresses, when in actuality they are sweatshop workers from NIKE factory in their home country....A dress that was priced at $180 ended up costing $340 with all the alterations that were required, even though we were quoted a price of no more than $50 for alterations....Stay Away... Pros: never need to return to this shop Cons: got taken for a ride by a lying company

I picked up several of their catalogs at a bridal expo. The dresses in the catalog looked great! I couldn't find a single one of them in the store. I visited their web site and found a dress I loved that was "on sale". I called the store and spoke to a guy, I asked about the dress I saw on the web site and he they didn't have it anymore. So then I asked if they had any of the dresses which were listed on the web site as "on sale", he said they didn't and I wouldn't want any of them because they're old. You do not tell a perspective bride and potential customer want they do and do not want! They had an entire page of discounted dresses on their web site that apparently do not exist. Once we got inside it was like shopping for your dress at the Salvation Army. I know "try on gowns" get ware and tear but these gowns were filthy. While I was new to the wedding dress experience I felt I knew more than the sales person. What they presented themselves as at the bridal expo and what you get when you walk in the door are two completely different things. Don't bother stopping in.
