I like the exclusive company because you can get a good deal on a large selection of cds without going to best buy. I find that there really aren't so many of this type of store out there where you can find a random cd that you don't think anyone else will have, and here it is. I've found that a few of the ones that I've been looking for aren't exactly cheap, but that may be because I think cds are expensive in general. This is a good store overall for price and selection.

It's hard to find a really good CD store in the Madison area. Especially near campus. Strictly Discs is the best I've found. They have a lot of the music I'm into, which often times falls under the indie rock category. It's hard to find indie music at, say, Best Buy.
It's a cozy store on Monroe St. with an attractive sign to draw you in.
Another plus is if you go onto their website : www.strictlydiscs.com you can see what the staff tops pics are for the year. Given the fact that the staff and I have similar musical interests, I enjoy this resource.

a specialty store speifically catering to fans of high end stereos, Paragon video and Stereo has everything you could want and more. By shopping at Paragon, you are giving back to the local monroe neighborhood, because the owner is a community member, and puts the money his store earns back into the community. Excellent store!

The Happy Medium is a really great store. Their employees know what is going on. If you're looking for speakers this is a good place to check out. They have a lot of high-end stuff but they also have some good sales. It can be a good place to get nice stereo components at a bargain if you go there at the right time.

If you're in the campus area, you really should check out Ear Wax. It is a pretty small store but it has a really good vibe and really good tunes. If you are looking for something rare or hard to find, you have a good shot at this store of finding it. Cool people running the place too.

This store is pretty much what you'd expect: large selection of electronics at somewhat reasonable prices. There is pretty much everything you'd need electronics wise here, and they specialize in Televisions. So if you are shopping for a Television, you might want to make a stop at American TV. They also have an ok selection of furniture. Yep.

Ward Brodt Music Mall is the biggest music store in Madison. It can be a little overwhelming because of its immense size but it is worth the time. You can play any instrument you want and the staff is very helpful. They also treat their customers well, giving gift certificates to return customers.

Madison Music has a great selection of acoustic guitars and guitar accessories such as books, strings, capos, cases, etc... The staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful and the store has great prices. It is worth talking the sales staff and trying to negotiate a better price. They are often willing to deal.
