We've been using Genie Maids for 4 years, and they have been flexible, punctual and most importantly, pros at cleaning!
Pros: best of all is that we get our moneys worth
Cons: They don't yet go west of New Haven... my parents live there !!

Just outside the center of Madison towards Clinton is a great little spot. They have cases filled with gourmet take-a-way foods great for parties, dinner, houseguests. For lunch: you order at the counter and head to the cute little dining room. On the weekends they serve dinner (with waiters) too- very nice spot to go with a girl friend to catch up or for a date. It was BYOB for wine last time I was there. Try it! Fanstatic coconut cupcakes!!

If you're an anglophile like I am or you need a gift for one, you'll love the British Shoppe in Madison, Connecticut. They carry a wide variety of gifts made in England, specialty foods, and of course a huge selection of teas for when you fancy a cuppa. There's also a tea shop called the Front Parlour Tea Room where you can have a traditional English tea or a light lunch. We introduced the British Shoppe to a transplanted Scottish/English couple we know, and they were delighted to see all the goodies from home. Check the website for more details.

We made reservations months ahead of time . We even called to confirm reservations . When we arrived they were not one bit apologetic in telling us they had no rooms available. We stayed in Clinton at another place. What really annoys us is they could not bring themselves to apologize for the error they made. Unbelievable !!
Pros: dont know
Cons: They made mistake and did not even own up to it

This place isn't the greatest. The drinks cost way more than they are worth and are not mixed very well. The food is okay, but certainly not worth the price. Definitely a place where the locals like to hang out

More
Madison Bridge Games are on Tuesday nights, and it's a generally good group of people. The level of play is quite high - the regulars take their duplicate bridge quite seriously! That said, although the vast majority of folks are nice, some of the folks here are a bit too competitive - there's less jovial kibbitzing here than in most local games, and some of the partnerships have rather toxic and/or abusive relationships that put a damper on the evening. Still, if you're looking for something to do, the director is great and will do her best to make sure you have a great experience.

Besides the rude, obnoxious and arrogant individual that answers the phone and comes up with lie after lie at the behest of her boss Dave who refuses to return phone calls and has treated me no less than a th**f might, they took a job through a third party assuring they could do the type of bevelling necessary. Not only did they do an amateurish and incorrect job they blamed their beveller then insisted it was the only thing that anyone could do. After research I found another company that could do the proper bevel. Madison Glass then told me it was too late for any credit. Consequently, they have the mirror they messed up as well as over $500 of my money and I have NOTHING not even a phone call from the shamefully elusive Dave. I am preparing a brief for my lawyer.
Pros: None
Cons: Everything you could possibly imagine
