The book store is in a nice part of town. It is a little small but carries a vast array of books. The people who work there and very nice and always helpful. They also get some well known Authors in there. It has a very cozy feeling and the little café adds a nice touch. I would recommend this book store any day.

Just outside the center of Madison towards Clinton is a great little spot. They have cases filled with gourmet take-a-way foods great for parties, dinner, houseguests. For lunch: you order at the counter and head to the cute little dining room. On the weekends they serve dinner (with waiters) too- very nice spot to go with a girl friend to catch up or for a date. It was BYOB for wine last time I was there. Try it! Fanstatic coconut cupcakes!!

If you're an anglophile like I am or you need a gift for one, you'll love the British Shoppe in Madison, Connecticut. They carry a wide variety of gifts made in England, specialty foods, and of course a huge selection of teas for when you fancy a cuppa. There's also a tea shop called the Front Parlour Tea Room where you can have a traditional English tea or a light lunch. We introduced the British Shoppe to a transplanted Scottish/English couple we know, and they were delighted to see all the goodies from home. Check the website for more details.
