This is a terrible business practice that smacks of getting people in and out quickly to maximize profit margin while forgetting the regular customers that frequent the business on a daily basis.
Did other restaurants in the immiadate area also roll out policies to suspend their senior citizen discounts because of the MLK holiday? After a brief investigation of other establishments in the area, the answer was NO!
A cheap and tawdry tatic is all I can say. The owners of this restaurant should be ashamed of themselves. With the economy the way it is, you would think that the ownership of the Country Inn would be grateful to be getting business and wouldn't do anything to alienate loyal customers.
As it was, I saw two different couples come in and promptly leave the premises upon learning this restaurant's tactic. The food here is OK, not great. In fact the food here is quite expensive and no better than your local Ram's Horn establishment, which incidentally does still honor the senior citizen discount on holidays.
Shame on you Country Inn. Your rotten business tactics have cost you loyal customers and have gotten you on Mr. Reviewers bad side.
I do hope the ownership at the 23 mile and Romeo Plank Country Inn has a change of heart ASAP in how they enforce their senior citizen dicount policy. Their reputation is now firmly on the line.
What's next? Charging more for flapjacks and omlettes on Valentine's Day?

This is wonderful restaurant. I love the food and the cost is very reasonable. I go here all the time with the family and would recommend this place to others.

This is a good place to go to if you want a good meal. The food is really good and its not ever to busy. They have wonderful staff and the food is inexpensive. I would love to go again.

We go to this restaurant at least once a week. The food is wonderful. I've never had a bad meal. Their menu is huge. Even the pickiest eaters will be able to find something to eat here. The children's dinners are priced right, and the portion sizes are large. If you are looking for down home country cooking at a great price (almost all meals are under ten dollars) this is the place to come.
