Everything is home made. From the croutons in the salad, to the pasta, and the desserts. I was giddy after taking a bite of my Chicken Basil. My wife actually had to remind me I was grown up and needed to settle down. We were impressed from start to finish.
Pros: Homemade everything! Outstanding fresh flavors.
Cons: No complaints.

Right after their big show and all the changes that were made, I was not happy with what I saw. The menu was small as well as their portions along with strange food choices. I've recently been back their to meet up with old friends and while the appearance of the restaurant still has all the changes, the menu looks like the old Giuseppi's. All of my favorites were back on and none of those stranges items were there. It's a good mix now with the show's renovations and the old food back.

I used to love this restaurant. When I went back to it in May, it had all changed. The server told me that Gordon Ramsay from Kitchen Nightmares came in and redid the place. (Do I want to know why?) Anyways, now it another nondescrpt Italian restaurant in the suburbs of Detroit that overcharges for their not very good food. What used to make this place so charming was not only their good food and reasonable prices, but the Grandma's basement kitchen atomosphere of the place. Now it's just too sophisticated for it's own good. Sorry, but I won't be back.

Used to eat here often. Went in last night, after Hell's Kitchen crew had been there and will probably never go back. The menu was shortened, prices went up and the new Chef Ramsey recipes were horrible. The old recipes were definately better.

I am a long time fan of Giuseppi's Trattoria-I have yet to be disappointed! (Don't get them confused with GiuseppE's on Gratiot, they have higher prices and the food doesn't compare). Giuseppi's has a quiet but comfortable atmosphere and the staff treats you like family. Even if it's your first time there, chances are you will see Giuseppi himself as he checks to make sure everything is up to par with his patrons. It is a family friendly restaurant with affordable gourmet Italian cuisine. I love this place.
