PAWS is a tremendous place - they have cats and dogs for adoption, as well as bunnies and smaller animals, and they do wildlife rescue. My one gripe (and this isn't really their fault) is that this is a community that loves to rescue animals, so if you find one you want, chances are lots of others have also and you'll have to do a "lottery" to get your pet. But maybe go for the cat with the gimp leg and it won't be an issue. ;)

Paws, I owe you a big thanks. You brought Adeline into our lives and we love you for it. She's the coolest cat in town. And that's not just a proud parent talking. Just check my photo gallery and you'll notice the stunning, cunning, remarkably intriguing Adeline. http://www.judysbook.com/members/chad/photos/
By the way, see the photo of her flying through the air? It's not like we threw her. She soars like a large bird of prey hovering over her target before pouncing on her target and snuffing out its meager life with a flick of her paw. Oh yes, be afraid.

I really can't say enough about PAWS. PAWS is the place you call when you find an injured squirrel (had to to that twice) or if you want to adopt a cat/dog/rabbit. Not only will they help with domestic animal issues, they promote thoughtful and careful living with wildlife. They have a center that rehabilitates and releases countless birds, mammals, etc...each year.
