I had dinner at this Chile's location twice a week for 4 months.
DINE AT THE BAR for the VERY BEST service, especially Friday and Saturday --
(it's really busy during normal dinner hours, but after 10pm I always found an empty bar stool).
.
The FOOD was ALWAYS WELL-PREPARED and GOOD -- here's what I had:
Cajun Chicken Pasta ("sauce on the side" consistently served as requested-thanks!)
Create your own combo -- Margarita Chicken, Garlic & Lime Grilled Shrimp
SW Eggrolls
Cobb Salad
Pros: Open 1 hr later than most places on SW side.
Cons: None.

Don Pablo's is yet another mexican food place that Lubbock has. Lubbock seems to have mostly mexican food! I understand why though, its good and its cheap. Don Pablo's is more TexMex than true authentic Mexican, but it is great for TexMex. The prices are really cheap at just 60 cents a Taco! Great for a sit down and eat type place.

I love Italian food, especially lasagne, but I can't cook it. I was looking forward to something other than my home-made spaghetti, so I decided to try Olive Garden. I chose this locastion because it is managed by my husband's niece' husband.
We were seated promtply though the wait staff did not know we were related to the manager. The atmosphere was pleasant for afternoon (4:00 p.m).. Our watress was personable and had no trouble taking our order. I ordered lasagna, naturally, while my husband order spaghetti. The food was served hot with a side orer of garlic bread and a small dinner salad. The lasagna was delicious, ooaing with cheese, just the way i like it.The noodles were tender and not overcooked. It was lightly seasoned with a delicate olive oil favor.
The dinner was well worth the price paid, though a bit more than what we normally pay at a cafeteria style establishment.
PROS: Excellent food; excellent wait staff, clean environment
CONS: air conditioning temperature was too cool.

We've enjoyed eating at both Orlando's Restaurants over the years, and there is a reason they?ve been a family favorite since 1965; it?s their high quality of food and service. Their wide variety of Italian cuisine is excellent and their prices are reasonable. Their restrooms are always clean and well maintained. The waiters are professional and well trained. I really have no complaints and would recommend Orlando's to anyone who is seeking good Italian food. Sometimes it gets a little noisy when operating at full capacity, so If you want a slightly quieter restaurant, try the Orlando?s located at 24th St. and Avenue Q. This original location is also the one I?d recommend for a quiet romantic evening. Both locations serve excellent food. Parking at the Indiana location is never a problem but the Ave Q is more crowded, especially on Friday and Saturday evenings. Waiting times are rarely a problem except on those two nights and then it is still well worth the thirty minute delay.
Pros: Wide selection of exceptionally well prepared Italian cuisine. Excellent service!
Cons: absolutely none.

This is a fun place to eat. They have clever names for the food items, so I get a laugh from the menu. We like to go there on Saturdays now and then for lunch when we are out shopping and very hungry. Their portions are large and the prices are fair. They have wonderful meatloaf, chicken fried steak and burgers, just to mention a few items. Lots of great choices. Good home style cooking. Sometimes the service is rather slow, but the place is usually packed on Saturdays when we go!

I had dinner here -- always at the bar -- about once a week for almost 4 months. The OTB bartenders always use the customer receipt as a placecard; they write your name on one side, and their name(s) on the other side, then put the receipt in front of you on their edge of the bar. After that, they call you by name when they speak to you, and you can do the same. By the 3rd time I came in, they said "Hi K---", and I said "Hi D---" or "Hi A-- and T-----". As a business traveller, this personal touch is what got me hooked on OT; the great service at the Lubbock OTB was what kept me coming back.
Pros: Being greeted by name, and made to feel welcome.
Cons: None.

I love shopping at Deja Vu Clothing. Their clothes are always so unique and fun to wear, and their accessories are funky and unlike anything any other store sells. The atmosphere of the store is warm and welcoming, and don't be surprised if you see a cat lounging on top of a hat rack, peering down at you! Deja Vu also carries a small selection of gifts such as candles and stationary.
