When they mean "Mexican food embassy" in the title, they really know what they're talking about. Abuelo's food is definitely at least a few notches above the standard tex-mex cuisine, without being too much more expensive than the norm. The service is great, and there's even a beautiful outdoor patio where live bands play while you sip away at amazing margaritas. Abuelo's is definitely a good restaurant, and I give it my highest recommendation.

Abuelo's serves the best mexican food in Lubbock! If you are visiting or a resident, this is the place to eat. Try the dish with the 3 pieces of bacon wrapped tenderloin and jalapeno stuffed shrimp wrapped with bacon also! It's the best dish on the menu.
Great chips, hot sauce and queso!
Pros: Good service,, great food, nice atmosphere
Cons: A little pricy,, but worth the $

I really love this place! It's got a great courtyard atmosphere for ambience. The food here is fabulous, with big portions. Just about all of their enchilada selections are out of this world. They also have the most wonderful steak fajitas and tacos that you'll ever sink your teeth into. When the chips are brought to my table, they are always consistently hot and fresh. Come on over!

We went to Ana's Asian Buffet shortly after it opened. We were surprised at how good this place really was. The food is all great. You can eat the usual Asian buffet fare, but then you can also enjoy an all you can eat sushi bar, steaks to order, and a Mongolian BBQ. The cost is about $10 per person, so bring an appetite to get your money's worth, but you will enjoy this place.
PROS: Great food including buffet items, sushi, Mongolian BBQ, & steaks
CONS: Costs $10 per person

Apples is a very small one room Pizza deli, if you would call it that. Yes they do sale great pizza's from personal size to large and almost any topping that you want, but they also sale everything else from hamburgers, salads, steak fingers, tacos, hot dogs, catfish, ham and cheese sandwiches, and hand dipped ice cream cones and floats. There is no dining room so it is either get it to go or eat in your car, but it is so worth it. You don't have many restaurants out in the country, and we are lucky to have one that is great, with a ton of variety.
Pros: inexpensive, very fast, friendly
Cons: , closes early on sat., no dining room

I think Applebee's is absolutely YUMMY. All of their food is prepared with such delicious ingredients. Also, they have a healthy options menu which is partnered with Weight Watchers. I think they have a tasty Asian stir fry sauce, which I like to pair with the Oriental Chicken Rollups or the Orange Chicken bowl. I have to say, value wise, they do not give you near enough food. But I love Applebee's so much, I will eat there no matter how much it costs.
