So i just got back from going there the first time. It was amaaaaaaazing. I bought a pair of brand new true religions, a free people tank, a knit hat, a sweater from silence and noise, and a slouchy t shirt from bdg. My brother bought 3 pendleton flannels, a pairs of jeans from lucky, and like 7 tee shirts. Together we spent only 300$! The service was fantastic, pretty organized, and amazing clothes. Im never shopping any where else!!! Thank you buffalo exchange!
Pros: best store for thrifters

I found Crossroads Trading on Melrose by accident as I was strolling down the street one day . To my surprise, they have a lot of really good designer labels for dirt cheap. Although many items are smelly, they are mostly in great condition. On my second visit I found an authentic Louis Vuitton luggage for $90. Although it had a coule of rivets fallen off, I was able to turn it around and sold it for $595, not bad for not even a day's work. I then went back the following day and bought a whole new wardrobe PLUS eat at BluJam Cafe next door and still have $500 left in my pocket. I was extremely happy!!!!
Pros: Great Finds at Such Dirt Cheap Prices. Search Hard and You May Just Find Gold!
Cons: Parking and They Sell a Lot of Louis Vuitton Knockoffs Too

The first time I visited this store it was to purchase signed books for a charity auction. I was amazed at the number of signed books they had on hand--both new and older collectible books. I also found a number of books for myself! There's a good selection of children and tween mystery fiction as well (i.e. Cornelia Funke) and even some branch out thriller or supernatural fiction like Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse series. They also have a great collection of British mysteries that are sometimes hard to come by here in the US. The sales staff are very helpful and will order items for you. I haven't made it to any of the in-store book signings yet but I've spoken to people who have and they really enjoyed them. Excellent resource for mystery fans!

I can spend hours in this store, myself. Each item is in perfect condition, totally unique, and something I keep for years. Everything I buy here, I treasure - to own designer clothing, for these prices, it's amazing. I've bought Marc Jacobs, Blahniks, Prada, Missoni, Chaiken, Dries, Marni, Gucci - you'd think I was made of money, with my wardrobe. And it's all current, which is what always amazes me...
Pros: Easy parking, as long as it's not lunch hour. New clothes every single day.
Cons: No returns. Ever.

Out of the Closet...is like an indoor yard sale! Very similar to Goodwill except maybe a little pickier in the merchandise they sell. A large selection of furniture and clothing for cheap...cheap! Save money...while supporting a good cause!

not perfect, but not bad giving the current difficulties of the independent book business. the store is still alive--since 1968 in the same wla location--which says a lot. the prices have remained very reasonable over the years and served mr. de chene's original intention: to make a wide variety of general used books affordably available to our community.

I love the clothes here. Some stuff are expensive but there are a lot of things on sale. The accessories are also very cute. I like how they hang the crinolines on the ceiling. That makes me love the store even more. Plus the name of the store is very classy.
