My boss was actually the one that told me about the jewelry district, and through that, I found INTA Gems on online (through several review sites).
Me and my fiance actually started shopping for rings back in Dec (he proposed 3 weeks ago!). We both live and work in San Diego so initially we started looking over there (with no luck). My boss recommended the jewelry district in LA so we decided to check it out.
After researching engagement rings and the jewelry district, INTA gems was the first place to pop up on my search. And with all the great reviews, how could I NOT check the place out? Well, I'm very glad that we checked it out because Steve was very patient with how picky I was. Letting me look at as many diamonds and settings as I wanted!
We bought the diamond in Dec. and bought the setting early Jan. Not only did they have the best prices, they also had a wide variety to choose from! Everyone there was more than helpful and very friendly (never pushy). And they sized our ring and set our diamond in an hour. VERY quick service! =)
I would definitely recommend INTA Gems to anyone and everyone! I'm the first out of my group of friends to be engaged so when all my girl friends are ring shopping, I will definitely send them on over to INTA Gems! Oh, and... you'll be seeing us again soon when we buy our wedding bands! ;)
Thanks again Steve (and family)!
PS: thanks to Peter for recommending that restaurant in Carlsbad! it's already bookmarked so hopefully I can go try it out soon!

If you haven't been to the Los Angeles Zoo, definitely go because you will have a good time watching the animals, watching the people, and get a work out! It is quite large and very family-friendly, and what many people don't know is that it's also a good place to take a date. I enjoyed the snake exhibit and the gorillas quiet a bit, and you will also find your own favorites as well!

The Pantages was restored to its full glory a few years ago and was featured in Martin Scorsese's "The Aviator." And what a job they did! When you walk into the lobby, you are transported to the Golden Age of Hollywood - all glamour and opulence. The lobby glitters and glows in painted gold with rich red carpet. The Pantages has also hosted most of the big shows that pass through LA, so there is often the buzz of a star-struck night.
Parking is not too hard in the many independent lots around the theater, and ranges from $5 - $10. You walk on the stars of Hollywood's bygone lumineries and the current restoration of the area. Hollywood Blvd had become a seedy, ironic tourist trap - filled with souvenir stands, homeless youth, and sex shops. But there is a movement to restore it to a vibrant showpiece that the restoration of the Pantages has anchored. In a few years, this will again be THE place to be in LA.
One last thing about the Pantages: every seat is pretty good. For many shows, we have bought the cheapest seats in the house - in the last two rows. The view of the stage is not too steep and still feels close enough to see the actors' expressions. At other places, like the Dorothy Chandler Pavillion you feel like you're a mile away. The Pantages is the best place in LA to see a show!

I wasn’t so happy at first. Paying the fee was actually to my surprise only because I thought it was going to be MUCH more expensive. That was nice but what I didn’t like (only at first) was that it took a while for them to find me the right one. After eight months of dating different guys who I liked very much and fit my criteria pretty well but still weren’t for me, I got kind of impatient. Thanks to my best friend who I grew up with, I learned to have faith. She basically told me that sometimes a person needs to be mature and wait a little longer. Her exact words were “a little patience goes a long way”. I can’t even begin to explain how right she was because a month later, I was set up with the most intelligent, grounded, hard working and honest man ever. His name was Gerald and I looked at him like my gift from G-D. We dated for about six months till we eventually married. I know six months isn’t so long, but when you know, you know. I guess what I’m trying to say is that this company DEFINITELY gave me my money’s worth and the fact that I wasn’t happy at first was just something I had to work on. Two thumbs up for this service.
