If I remember correctly, they don't charge for hot green tea. Another plus. =)
I've never been to En Sushi for dinner but have heard that it can get pricey.
Pros: Lunch Specials - great price & value
Cons: Never been for dinner (but have heard it's pricey)

I had dinner at En last night and again it was amazing! I have been going to En for years and it is consistently good. Their traditional suhsi & sashimi is fresh. They have simple rolls as well as wild rolls with different fish and sauces. My favorites are the albacore tataki sashimi, salmon sashimi, hurricane roll and the diablo roll. They have a number of different sakes to choose from, I love the Oka. It is a great ambiance, very LA. I would recommend this for friends or a date.
Pros: Diverse menu, quality sushi, good sake list, great ambiance
Cons: none

The reason to go to En Sushi is for the ambiance. It's a hip place to get drinks, enjoy a la carte items, or dine out with your hipster friends.
The decor is very akin to L.A. nightlife, complete with dim accent lighting and lots of post-modern touches here and there to the Japanese roots.
The food is good and reasonably priced, but nothing to write home about. This place definitely caters more towards the casual Japanese diner, rather than to the hardcore sushi aficionados--but that's not to say that a they wouldn't enjoy a meal here as well. They offer a very general Japanese menu - offering all the typical/popular Japanese items, with a few unique creations of their own.
If you're looking for a place to impress your guests, without the intimidating menu (either due to price or hard-core extremity), this is a good option.
Also, the parking situation is not bad at all--which, for L.A., is a godsend.

We went here on a Thursday night so the place was not crowded at all. We did make reservation just in case though. I ordered the Omakase and it was not expensive at all at $45. The fish was fantastic and very fresh. Everything was mouthwatering. This is a great sushi place. The only bad part was that our waiter ignore us for a good 20 minutes. He did not bring us one of our food and again ignore us when we were ready to ask for the check. Next time I may just sit at the bar.
Pros: Fresh, dlicious fish
Cons: service

I went to En Sushi with my family for dinner and was disappointed with the food. I ordered the Teriyaki Beef dinner and my family orders 2 other different kinds of set dinner. The dinner sets were not good and the portion was small. The only thing that was good we ordered was the spicy tuna roll. I went home feeling unsatisfied and hungry because the food was not good. However, this place has a cool looking bar and nice decor, I guess it is a place to go if you want to impress your date and pay for so so food. There are many Japanese restaurant in West L.A./Santa Monica for more reasonable prices and better food. I'd rather eat at smaller authentic restaurants that have good food.
Pros: Nice ambience, a cool bar
Cons: so so food

Great place for a date but have the bar serve you. Also a great place for Happy Hour. The Bar and Sushi was awesome, can't speak for the restaurants service. The words "Excuse me" have no effect, so I recommend "Hey come here." Refill on your water, good luck. Expect things like "Oh you want extra what, of that's going to cost extra." Prices are not too bad, sushi and drinks (cocktail, premium) for two will run you around $90. Management at the restaurant is much like the servers, so don't bother complaining. Valet's $3.50 or save the money and park across the street at the supermarket.
Pros: Great Food
Cons: Poor Service

Not overly priced. Great sushi. Terrific service. Nice Bar. Comfortable. Not a whole lot to argue about here - this is a must check out.

En Sushi is definitely one of those trendy LA sushi places where the prices are steeper than the local sushi restaurant because of the atomsphere. That said, the sushi is actually good. I had some hamachi sashimi ($6) and a spicy hamachi roll ($6) which I liked (but nothing like Hokusai!) The crunchy spicy tuna roll ($10) is really good as well. Cocktails were good but not very strong ($10-15). My friend ordered the sea bass but they didn't have it so she had black cod ($18) and she really liked it. The service was good and the food was pretty good as well, so I would come back.
Pros: Good sushi
Cons: some dishes could be cheaper

Lunch time is also a treat here because their lunch menu is very fulfilling and delicious. Overall price is not too bad. If you enjoy high quality sushi and an great atmosphere, I think the price is suitable.
