The Gardens on Glendon is one of my favorite lunch spots. Great for a business meeting or just a nice lunch in a peaceful setting, The Gardens has it all! Beautiful interior decor with comfortable seating and even when it's busy it's still reasonable noise wise. Delicious Guacamole made fresh at your table just the way you like it with fresh homemade tortilla chips and fried wontons - definitely a must try! (Often I'll just order this to-go as my lunch it's that good!) Also fabulous oysters and shrimp. For a meal I have enjoyed the turkey & prosciutto sandwich with fruit that's quite tasty, The bbq baby back ribs which are delicious but messy, The little fillet mignon on a garlic toasted bun (a steak burger) that is to die for with shoestring fries, and last but certainly not least... (you have to ask for it, it's not on the menu) the fish & chips which is absolutely fabulous - ask for extra tartar sauce! And I have yet to be disappointed by ANY of their desserts! From the outside, you can't tell what kind of restaurant it is and you can't really tell once you get inside until you look at the menu. This is finer dining mexican food. If you get the guacomole dip, they prepare it right in front of you. The portions are pretty large and the food is o.k. but it's probably not a place I would go back to.

They make an awesome guacamole right at your table and they ask you what you want in it. It's SO GOOD. The place is also really cute and nice. It's great for a casual kind of elegant meal. It took us a while to figure out what "shoestrings" were though. They're fried potatoes, basically. I went there for lunch and their sandwiches were good and their desserts looked and sounded REALLY good. I will definitely have to go back for dinner sometime as I imagine the atmosphere would be even nicer.

The guacamole, which they make fresh right at your table, is some of the best I've ever tasted. The salt and pepper shrimp (served in a paper cone). Great fish dishes, yummy chicken in a grainy mustard sauce, and . Also, delicious pizzas. For dessert, try the bread pudding or the "chocolate decadence". Definitely not an "every day" place (especially on a student budget), but great if somebody else is paying. Also, bar scene is classy...defin itely not the cheesy Madison's or Maloney's vibe, with sloppy drunks and frat jerks. The place is really beautiful, with some very cozy (and romantic) areas (the "Rotunda" room, and the upstairs balcony - very private). Go there at least once before you graduate!
